Johnny Depp looks very comfortable to me! He’s just a good actor - and don’t forget they would’ve rehearsed it. If anything, he looks like he’s trying not to laugh. He’s a fan of British humour, you can tell. If he wasn’t, he wouldn’t have agreed to the gig.

Johnny Depp lives in the UK now. He has a large country estate in Somerset, England and loves living here. He enjoys going into the local towns and villages, because whilst he is recognised he says, "English people don't go crazy when they see me! They are polite and respectful although they do like to say hello and have a chat when it's appropriate".

I think he bought a pub in Somerset too. He also had a house near to Hastings. He lived over here when his children were at school. The family divided their time in the UK and France. He often slips into a British accent

Johnny Depp is one of the kindest, most gentlemanly and charitable people and pops up in many sitcoms fitting in with whatever they want whilst visiting hospitals and donating a lot of money to them especially childrens since his daughter was taken to one.

The Fast Show was Johnny Depp’s favourite comedy show. According to both biography books I read years ago he used to take video tapes of the show around the world with him to movie shoots, and would always watch an episode or two in his trailer or hotel to wind down before sleeping. And he’s said in numerous interviews that Paul Whitehouse is one of his heroes (and one of few actors to make him feel star-struck when he met him). He even got Paul some small roles in a few of his movies.

This sketch with Johnny Depp is from a special of the show. It follows the pattern of all the previous iterations of the sketch with these two tailor's shop assistants - it's just all the funnier because it's Johnny Depp being treated this way. Johnny Depp absolutely knew what he was letting himself in for! I's funny because it's irritating - that's the point!

I get the feeling that this sketch was like a private joke between Johnny Depp and the other guys. I wonder how much of it was inspired by the real life antics of the drummer Keith Moon, together with the guy from the 'Bonzos' and various one legged actors they hired to help them take the piss out of the 'posh'' tailors around Londons 'Jermyn Street' area.

Was a big fan of the show at the time and equally a fan of Johnny Depp (I will admit, he is very much liked in the UK - I think it has something to do with effortlessly nailing our accents flawlessly) I rate him as one of the best character actors ever. So this was a delight on first viewing.

I found the episode where they turned it around highly amusing. One of them tries it on with a customer who turns out to be as bad (if not worse) than them. He responds in kind... and they become all shocked."Careful, we've got a live one here!" So funny.

It's the same awkward feeling in comedy that Ricky Gervais leaned into with The Office, but with a tad more sophistication. Either way, it's the awkwardness that makes it funny, and it was funny to watch you feel the awkwardness while you were trying to figure it out in context with the generation in which you were raised.

BBC The Fast Show is from a good (1990's) few years ago , but may not be made today non--PC. It was a a good, popular show in the UK in its day. Plenty of BBC Fast Show vids on You Tube. See Bob Fleming's Country Favourites. Still makes me chuckle even now. Bob Fleming with a bad cough (Charlie Higson) and Paul Whitehouse (Jed ) Arse!/ Mark Williams / Simon Day (Murtagh) etc.

The problem with Americans (as an observation, not a criticism)...is that they try to evaluate and think too deeply about humour before realising that it is just humour! Which is probably why British comedy shows never really translate well into American copies. They can't successfully do carcasm and wit, as they should be spontainious.

Unfortunately, you've jumped straight in at the deep end with The Fast Show. You really need to watch complete episodes, and watch from the beginning. I'll be honest, when I watched the first episode, when it aired, I wasn't sure. I didn't get half of it. Second episode you understand a bit better. Third episode you're in stitches. Even then, some sketches completely miss. But, when one hits, boy does it hit
