The ABs are the pinnacle...They have set the standard for over a hundred years and they continue to innovate. What makes them all the more remarkable is that NZ had only 3 million people or less for most of those hundred years, while South Africa and others have at least 5 times their populations...Another little known fact, the ABs were not allowed to play their Maori or Pacific island players on tour to South Africa, up until the 1970s. When they win it's with humility and every AB understands, that they are simply caretakers of their respective jerseys...

Did you go to the Fiji AB’s game in July? Love to see and hear the comments. You’re one the best commentators. I’ve even learnt a couple of things. My brother coached a few teams that I had the privilege of being told about, night and day, right things, wrong things, future things, from when he first played at 14 years old. He reckoned that the AB’s needed to move faster, admired Jonah Lomu, Micheal Jones but still needing to move faster. Well, here they are, moving faster, backing each other. He’d say, ‘if they ain’t doing that, they don’t belong there’. More often than not, he wouldn’t see them next season. He’d love these guys now. They’re doing exactly what he coached but never achieved in his coaching career.

One thing that stands out is the support play, there were a few occasions when the running was drawing the tackle and you could see support for the runner on both the left and right, plenty of options. Other times near the try line you see 2, 3 or even 4 players cross with the try scorer so support right to the end. At present the 15 a side game there only first tier countries in it with any chance. Admittedly some of the Northern Hemisphere teams are showing huge improvement I guess it's players and coaches playing in both the hemispheres and learning from one another. The biggest threat to the All Blacks is South Africa they play tough and the history exist in both countries, from a Kiwi I can just say thank you South Africa for keeping things honest and making our boys work for every point. Keep the reaction videos coming, cheers!

The Springboks are by far the most successful team against N.Z. with just about 37% win record(106 played 40 wins 4 draws), next would be AUS with about 23%, the rest of the nations can only claim a handful of wins against the All Blacks. I'd say they are feared not because of their physicality (Springboks trump them on that) but their ability to absorb pressure and then flip the script with quick decisive counter attacks, even at the very end of a match. To pull this off they rely on their superior ball skills, visionary individual player skills and the ability to read each others' play and consistently perform at the highest level. They are a well oiled machine over many decades.
