What suspect would want give other people hints as to what Could have happened to her. It’s very likely that the person who did this to her sent those messages in order to divert suspicion towards them.

I’ve traveled all over the world alone as a single woman. One must be hyper vigilant, even in a safer country like Spain. She did not leave on her own I don’t think. Praying she is found safe! Not necessarily. If someone stole or had access to your phone they'd know who you talk with, the people you text more often, and in case, in what languages. Even a cursory reading of previous messages would reveal who is a relative, a friend, a colleague etc. Not saying it's impossible but in no way a certainty. Also, organizing a kidnapping (hoping it's "just" a kidnapping) overseas is complicated for the CIA, almost impossible for some guy.

They knew exactly where she lived. If their main aim was to kill her, they would have done so right there in her apartment but they did not. If they forced her into a car, getting out of the building and into the car must have been recorded by CCTV cameras somehow. That´s a busy street with traffic lights, banks, businesses that do have CCTV cameras. There is absolutely no way she was kidnapped with no footage available, at least of the moment she was taken or walked out of the building. Perhaps police are going through the footages (that's something I'm sure they'll do). They must ahve used a car or a vehicle to take her somewhere and once the car is identified, it's very possible to trace its movement throughout the city. Most streets and highways in Madrid are equipped with sophisticated cameras. Whoever did this, planned it really well.

I was in Barcelona last year and I was warned that there are a lot of pocket pickers in Spain. You always have to keep an eye on your belongings and noticed a few young men following me and the oddest thing of all is that you can't really find a decent place to stay without paying a lot of money at a luxury hotel, which I find odd, A lot of space for rent through Airbnb in Spain the rooms don''t have locks! I finally found a decent place to stay for a few days with a room that had keys and a lock. One evening I heard suspicious knocking on the doors of the rooms in the apartment. The next day I was notified by the owner of the apartment that there were people trying to sell something and don't answer the doors. I find it odd that they were able to get inside of the building and into the apartment...I felt unsafe and that I was going to get abducted. Next time I visit Spain I will pay a decent amount to stay at a luxury hotel.

What did that have to do with the missing woman? I didnt....nevermind I'll go back to the video. If that note she allegedly wrote or texted to her friend is right then she very well may have been trafficked or just kidnapped because traffickers use "lures" to capture their prey. I' m so sorry about your friend being missing. Hope she turns up unharmed. Really though we need to mix our enjoyment of life with alot of caution because theres ruthless people out there. Nobody would traffic a 40 year old, no matter how attractive, they look for girls aged 15 to 25. Also they prey on vulnerable people, from Africa, Eastern Europe, certainly not an American, this is international news and puts a lot of pressure on Spanish authorities, 100% not worth it. I watch a lot of these kinds of shows, especially of woman that have disappeared and I have lost count of how, in many of them, the woman sent a text message saying she was with another man, or the husband/partner verbally says that she told him she was leaving him for someone else. Then we discover it was the husband who killed her and just used that to deflect from any investigation of what he was doing at the time of the disappearance. As soon as I saw that text, I knew it was her husband. Then I find out he is in Serbia, which although not close, is a lot closer than Florida.

Don’t mean to be negative but this is likely a case closed. Solo traveler to a foreign country and no communication for that long? She’s either been kidnapped or trafficked with a bad ending. Happened to an acquaintance of mine in our small community. Rule for ANYONE: Never travel alone to a foreign country to meet strangers from online.

@@rigelb9025Sorry but this isn’t like those rescue mission movies such as Taken. Reality is hard to face in such a cruel world. It will be a miracle if she is found alive and well which I’m still praying for but sometimes you have to look at the actual circumstances for what it is in this era. Someone in my community went through this exact thing and it caused a huge scare for everyone traveling outside of the U.S. This is all too common and Police outside don’t really have the resources or time to find one person missing. Think about how hard it already is domestically. I pray that I’m wrong.
