Abuja is the Capital of Nigeria. Lagos used to be the Capital. No, we have not witnessed any natural disasters in WEST Africa except for floods which is in Lagos and some outside Lagos. Now in Nigeria, we have the Northern part of Nigeria, which is Abuja, Kano, Kaduna etc; then the West, which is Lagos, Ibadan etc, in the East we have Enugu, Owerri etc and in the South of Nigeria, we have Port Harcourt, Akwa Ibom etc… these are the cities in those regions or areas but not the States. So, when you do the map, you were seeing Abuja outside Nigeria but, it is Inside Nigeria. You will understand it better when you take a trip. Hope this helps!

You just divided Nigeria into four cardinals but in real sense it has 6 geopolitical zones: South south, South west, South east, North central, North west and North east. Nigeria is very beautiful and there are still other beautiful cities with beautiful houses like Portharcourt, Calabar, Uyo, Jos, Enugu , and the rest. But you will deffinately be wowed to see bigger mantions in villages or hometowns in the Eastern part of the country😊. That is because the Igbo people of Nigeria are typically from that region and they prioritise building mansions in their hometowns. This is very beautiful because you get to experience luxury at the countryside or billage, and not just while you are in the city❤

This bridge was constructed and opened with what you mentioned...to create an economic environment for people to raise money!! Any protests in Nigeria ends with the serious damage and ruination of toll gates , bus shelters and even private business properties! In the Niger Delta, the worst possible humanitarian crisis is being caused on a monthly basis! Pipelines and oil flow stations in the region are being destroyed by human leeches!! They smash open these pipelines, to tap the crude, but are unable( possibly unwilling) to cork it back, so the crude seeps into the rivers, creating an enormous environmental degradation! In the southeast, misguided and misled youths are holding the citizens to ransom on a weekly basis by their illegally imposed "sit-at-home" campaign!! The most industrious hub in the entire Nigeria, cannot trade or do business without a threat to their lives and livelihood!! Similar decadence is in the north, where bandits and kidnappers have blighted the region and as such if affects farming and food crisis!! So "we the people" have not yet learned about civic responsibility and full national patriotism!! So you see, the leaders can only be as effective as the followership allows them to be!! Mortgages are not really a thing here. There are no hurricanes or tornados or typhoond or earthquakes or volcanic eruptions in Nigeria. The comments talking about flooding have no idea what real flooding (a la Louisania when levees fail) looks like. When you see the $ sign in these videos, it refers to US dollars. The Nigerian currency is called the Naira and uses the ₦ symbol. Nigeria doesn't enforce speed limits, but there are minimum speed limits on highways (100km/hr) and maximum speed limits on on/off ramps(50km/hr) and within urban streets (30km/hr) but as a matter of principle, we don't observe the speed limits and the Police don't enforce them. That's not the president's house, but there a couple of house just like that "white house" here in Abuja. The president's house in Nigeria is call Aso Villa, and it's a lot more nicer on the inside than on the outside. There are barely any police stops in Abuja, but if you get in a police chase, I can assure you that you will not and cannot escape. After all, the president stays here and the city is designed to prevent things like this. Payment systems in Nigeria in Nigeria now is very good. Local bank transfers settle in less than a minute, cross-border or international transfers settle in range of 1 minute to as much as 3 days (US payments). Zoning of apartments is not lenient, your house will get demolished if not approved. No fix this or fix that, they'll tear it down. That $15m dollar house does have all those things you mentioned, I've been there. Steven probably just got bad footage of it or lost some footage during editing. That's the backyard. ABUJA has a bustling night life. Nigerians, we do know how to party.

We have 36 cities as state capitals and Abuja as the Federal capital territory. Each state has a minimum of 2 or 3 mini cities or towns. Nigeria is divided into two regions South and North. Southern and Northern regions are further divided into geopolitical zones making a total of six zones. Lagos is in Southern Nigeria while Abuja is Northern Nigeria. Lagos is located in South West Nigeria while Abuja is located in North Central Nigeria. So being Lagos and Abuja means that the person has only been to only two sub regions out of six and every other sub region have it's own peculiarities. Different cultures, languages, foods and others. The life style of Lagos for example is different from that of Lagos or Port Harcourt vise versa.

Abuja is smack dap in the center of the country. It came about through what many would feel is ethno-political shenanigans. Lemme explain. Lagos was both the political and commercial capital of Nigeria up until the 80s. The Northern ethnic group, the Hausas who make up one part of the trifecta of the 3 major ethnic groups in Nigeria (Igbos & Yorubas being the other two) used the power of incumbency (they held political power at the time) to convince the country that Lagos (in the south west) was situated too far away from the rest of the country -- in other words, "too far from their own enclave". They suggested they carve land from, I believe, three of the most centralized states (kinda like how DC was created from land donated by the states of Maryland and Virginia) in the country. And that the distance from the four corners of the country to Abuja would be relatively the same. And peeps bought into it. The Northern part of the country is kinda like the US north vs south. The Northern US is industrialized and more developed than the deep south. But in Nigeria its the reverse: The south is leaps ahead of the North both in education and infrastructure. So moving the Capital towards the North was their way of consolidating power. Or at least that's their reasoning.

BRo, there are no natural disasters to speak of in Nigeria or West Africa for that matter. The prices are definitely US dollars. That said, the prices are like that because you are actually paying for the house in cash. No loan, hence there is not interest rate to inflate the price.
