tips from up north : the 16 on the IMP is the year of the batch it came from, so that one is from 2016, the first ration heater you used(if you read it) says to wrap it around the meal, don't put the meal inside of it. We all have done the same mistake until some one finally decided to read it. as for this meal, most of us call it chicken stew with fries. cant call that thing poutine

Matches are always included as most of the time a Coleman stove is used to heat rations. It’s always available, especially during winter operations as the heaters may not have enough to them to warm up the food.

I used to just put the pouch around the fire... that we lit up with those matches. It was faster than to boil water onto the Coleman stove and shoving the pouch in the boiling water.

Big fan from Edmonton Alberta Canada 🇨🇦 and I have a back full of maple 🍁 leaves surrounding my family cost of arms from 1699. I’m a very patriotic Canadian. It’s my country. I have to share with you that when I backpacked through Europe and a few years later Asia way back in my late teens and early twenties in the 80’s, aMEricans put Canadian flags on their packs and maple leaf lapel pins on their jackets because Canadians were much more welcome than (what was said at the time) rude aMEricans. As Canadians we always seem to find each other on over seas adventures. I’ve met fellow Canadians at the very southern tip of South America. So … maybe 🤔 don’t be too harsh when throwing out glib remarks about Canada. There are a lot of us that like your stuff. Keep it up! 👍

@aaaaaadasjfodsfdjfbdshifb it's not a myth. I backbacked through Europe twice for 6mos each, and every hostel I met Americans with Canadian flags on their packs and day bags They said they get treated better. I of course made fun of them and made them learn how to spell my home province. Don't believe it, that's on you. But I've seen it numerous times first hand. We're the easiest accent to copy.

Companies are legally obligated to do so :) As far as rations go, my best friend was on the military, and they used to have a box full of rations that they would pick from and they'd do games to decide who got to choose first. Apparently it's very hit or miss 😂

The Niagara region in Ontario and the Okanagan region of British Columbia are perfect climate and conditions for producing world class wines. Ice Wines are particularly sought after. There use to be a Canadian Stand-Up Comic, I can't remember the name, He did a routine about the difference between the U.S. Flag and the Canadian Flag. The U.S. flag ever aspect as meaning, 50 stars one for each state, 13 Strips for the original colonies, and even the color each has a meaning. The Canadian Flag, it is a leaf.

Canadian here. What you referred to as “meat” is actually cheese curds. The cheese has to be curds to be authentic Canadian poutine. They get all stringy like that when melted. For poutine in a bag; however, I was surprised at how close it looked to something you would get at a restaurant, pub or “Poutinerie” (literally a restaurant that only sells poutine). Gotta go now; watching hockey while getting a maple leaf tattoo. ✌️🇨🇦🍁
@Steelwolf1713 ай бұрын
The thing about poutine is that it's at it's best ten minutes before you order it. The minute it gets to your table you have about twenty minutes before you have a congealed cheesy potato gravy brick (which still isn't bad... potentially). As for dehydrated in a mre, well think you can add that to the list of Geneva no noes (or as we call it, the Geneva checklist)

We have two official languages in Canada, excluding Quebec. Quebec has one official language. I'm amazed at how many Canadians don't know this. Quebec doesn't have to legally recognize English as an official language, nor will it ever, but they get to shove French down the rest of the country's throat. Quebec is the only province in Canada that is treated like a U.S. State. Unfortunately we have a two-tier system within our Commonwealth concerning the provinces right to rule themselves. Quebec also has its own legal system, Charter, and the RCMP have been replaced by their own police force (SSQ), etc. All Canadian provinces should be treated equally under the Charter btw, but they aren't. Although I am not a Trudeau supporter, Pierre was correct when he said that he didn't want to live in a country where some Canadians have more rights than other Canadians. That was in reference to recognizing Quebec as a country within a country. As long as Quebec remains in Canada they should be forced to recognize English as an official language. Btw, look at my name and guess where I am from. 😉

As someone with relatives in Quebec, it should be stated as everything is in French and English because some of those French Canadians have quite the ego. We had my uncle and his family visit us in Germany and his wife refused to speak English because she was from Quebec and considered French Canadians superior. Three generations of my family had practiced English to accommodate her and she was like “Non!” Believe me, eating this MRE was much more enjoyable than our meals with my aunt, who made it clear that she was better than everyone else. At least you had pleasant company with your MRE. BTW I love poutine - my favorite quick fix dinner.

Cool review friends. These, Like our U.S. MRE'S, hash browns for example, would be better with, crunchy potatoes. Alas, we as A human race, are not that good yet. At least in MRE format. We can hope? IMP'S are awesome. The pain, buns, are not cut into completely, so halves do not rub together and make crumbs. So I am told, from Canadian. FRH'S suck, as A general rule. aftermarket beats military, hands down. Your episode surprised me on results? usually opposite? I am glad, you had some fun and enjoyed most? Please remember, given the situation, this and others, would be A welcome meal. Yes, real Poutine is better, like hashbrowns or other. Hard to reproduce in rations however. Peace, John. Ky.
