This genre is vispop. Like many similar songs - with strong poetic lyrics, a melodic chorus and a clear connection to traditional music - it’s very popular in Sweden. Niklas Strömsted is very good at it. Listen to his ”Sista morgonen”, that’s a classic.

OMG, I've never listened to this song enough before to notice they completely change up the bassline in the last choruses. The bassline is a big part of this song, IMO. Very underrated.

This Norwegians all time favorite Swedish Pop song, when this came out I had that on full every time I listened to music for a long time. I still repeat this one quite often.

The chorus is, imo, an epically poetic description of what it feels like to be completely in love with someone. I think it's a strength with many swedish songwriters. The ability to describe feelings and experiences in a poetic way that makes the listener reflect and nod in recognition. Maybe you should try and translate part of some lyrics for your English speaking audience. I'll have a try here and you correct me if there's a better way to convey the message of the lyrics ☺ Chorus: "If you were a sea, I would be a wave, If you were heaven, I would have wings, If you were a rain, I would be the land and sea, If you were music, I would be a song, If you were the plains, I'd want to be the wind, But I wouldn't be anything if you weren't there. So true. They came together to do "När vi gräver guld i USA" for the football championship and thanks to the great success for the swedish team, that song grew so big. And thanks to that, they continued for a while longer.

Triad var en helt annan sak, det var en riktig grupp där Niklas var med och han var inte särskilt känd innan dess. Triad splittrades på grund av att medlemmarna hade olika syn på vilken typ av musik de skulle göra. Niklas stora genombrott som soloartist kom först efteråt, med några av de låtar han skrivit för Triad men som ratades av gruppen. Sista morgonen var en av dessa låtar.

I'm sort of surprised that you said he had two songs charting at the same time. Since pretty much every song from that album charted, it felt like half the songs on the swedish chart at that time was his.. And I agree with those others that have said you should do "Sista morgonen" also. That one is really classic and we haven't had any vemod lately, I know you need your fix. :)

Vart du än går is actually my favorite Strömstedt song. He wrote it when his first son was born. Typ vart du än går så kommer jag alltid att finnas där. My suggestion is one of, in my opinion, Swedens best singers. Peter Jöback. The epic Guldet blev till sand from the musical Kristina från Duvemåla or Stockholm inatt.

Problemet är ju att för att uppskatta låten så måste man ju förstå hela grejen med karaktärerna Ronny och Ragge, vilket jag tror kan vara svårt när man inte upplevt den eran. Låten står ju inte riktigt för sig själv. Det är som att vi skulle köra Man ska ha husvagn eller Jag vill ha en synth, underbara låtar men så förknippade med sitt sammanhang att det blir jättekonstigt för en utomstående.

GES didn’t split up because they were 3 divas not getting along They were in the middle off a project were they and band members from 2 other popular Swedish groups were playing together for the first time. During this project Nicklas was asked to write the official song for VM-94 (Sweden winning the bronze medal definitely made the song more popular) Orup and Glenmark really wanted to be part of it and Nicklas said yes. After touring, writing, producing and releasing new songs as GES they just wanted to return to there own careers. Orup Ed Nicklas Strömstedt och Anders Glenmark are still to this day, really good friends. Trough the yers they have played and made music together. 2017 and 2019 the had a reunion and they released new music www.ges.se/historien-om-ges/ Last summer they were all 3 off them among the artists in the tv show “Så mycket bättre” Absolutely worth watching!!
