I wouldn’t say the hotel was entirely in the wrong for giving out his number. The main thing to look at here is the fact that the people at the fro t desk did not know what he was doing while in his room. For all they know, he could’ve called a local Domino’s for delivery and asked to have it delivered to the hotel.

If the customer doesn't give the pizza restaurant their room number for delivery, the correct thing to do is have the delivery driver drop the pizza off at the front desk. The front desk can then call the customer to let them know their delivery has arrived and the customer can come retrieve it.

You definitely came on too hard on the hotel staff, this woman was clearly manipulative and psychotic, nobody could possibly expect to predict her behavior. Yes the hotel made a mistake and immediately owned up to it and rectified it by moving rooms. It's not like they doubled down and tried to be dicks, they did as much as could be reasonably expected of them under the circumstances.

Frankly the front desk is allowed to give info to someone if it is a pizza place. That's what they had to do for mine. With many people in the hotel, it can be hard to keep track of every want and need. It's a mistake, but luckily nothing came of it and he was able to move rooms.

My malicious compliance story: I worked at a famous fast food store, like most famous one there is in America at least. I had a terrible time and was leaving. My last week I got maybe 20 hours, which is more of what I should have been given as part time, but they had me as full time every week and because they didn't let me do leaving duties until it was time to go, I usually got 3 hours of over time. My last day I was sent home after 4.5 hours because we were overstaffed that day. Now our schedules were made day by day unless the shift lead was out for a few days. So for four days I called to get my schedule. The 5th day I said who cares. And I get a call the next day which was supposed to be my last because I didn't show up. I never explained myself or anything. I showed up that same day and gave them my uniform. They tried to make me wait and I did but eventually the owners son just took it and I left without a word. I've been back since but the owner has never even looked at me and I'm not surprised as I found out later my mother threatened to sue him for threatening his employees if he ever tried to go after me again. He had threatened bodily harm to his entire staff but corporate can't do anything to franchise owners and it was a small town where no one valued another person more than their worthless dead end job so I never went after him.

HR person here, plus I have a Masters in HR. Retaliation and retribution is highly illegal, as is not paying someone for work they have done. So, not only will she be able to win her case but the department of labor can fine them, and in severe cases, the employer can even be shut down. I hope everything works out for the OP.

About the 3rd story (creepy woman at the hotel): I think I worked for the same francise. It's an international hotel group( not saying a brand name to get in trouble or anything) with very strick rules. A manager ones told me to ready the hole workers policiy just to check if a colleague is allowed to changes the details on his name tag because customers have looked him up and texted him via SM.
