Hi MRM....such a fun time. Finding fossils always make you wonder about the realm of the past and what it might have really been like. It shows we really do not know and can only see the remnants of what was. Thanks for taking us along for the adventure.

I find shimmer and iridescence don’t show as well on camera as in real life so these must be amazing to see when you’re holding them. Not an easy task, though. More work than walking and picking up beautiful rocks. Also I really appreciate your scientific explanations and putting the findings in geological context.
@MontanaRockMom2 жыл бұрын
Thank you Rita! Yes- a very difficult task! Especially with Chopper hahaha...silly boy. A couple of them- I just couldn't believe the shine- the reds and greens- you are right, the camera just doesn't quite capture it all!

Awesome video ... The "Bearpaw" years are 175,000,000 for Baculite, Ammonite and scaphites.... Hounded the Melstone area for many years. You did great, nice scores ... Fun stuff, I've been watching 5 minutes at a time. Love, love, love all the sutures. And all that ammolite was so pretty. I would have been struggling under the load trying to haul out my pack after a trip to that place. Are you going to start bringing Lola along on the adventures too or will 2 be too many? I was kind of surprised Chopper didn't find a leg. I think you need to rig some sort of a headband mount for your camera so you can have both hands free. Sort of like the Choppercam, but for people. The Kimcam.
@MontanaRockMom2 жыл бұрын
Yeah, Lola is WAY too much puppy right now! I have explored using mounts with my camera so I don't have to hold it- but I lose the detailed close-up video- and my favorite part of watching my adventures is seeing my finds up close- so oh well.... I just need to get better at multi-tasking and up my endurance! So---- as for Chopper, he found a mammal carcass of a large I don't know what! It was about 6 feet long--- I couldn't even guess. It was mostly bone with a bit of meat left. It had a long, narrow face and a very long rib cage. Legs were missing! I got out of that area quickly incase a predator was still working on it. Also 2 large fish. That is mostly what my car smells like. For some reason, my camera wasn't fully charged! It died. : (

Thanks for sharing this with us Kim!✌️🤠

It's still called ammolite- it can be found on ammonites, baculites and even seashells! The super glue stuff is called cyanoacrylate. This is an Amazon link so you know what I am talking about. It's used in lots of fossil preparation... amzn.to/3TE5Bv4

Conglomerates are a mixed bunch and yet none of them contain text, perhaps that's what makes them so wonderful. This is a rock show, please keep in mind we are here for rocks. Cheers mate
