You will need two additional 12mm M3 self tapping screws for the top brace (unless you have a mechanical speed control then they are already there) . We also recommend a 14mm M3 self tapping screw in place of the 12mm units in the bulkhead. For the bottom, a 14mm M3 self tapping screw is recommended to replace the 12mm units in the bulkhead also and two 8mm M3 self tapping screws are needed to hold the rear of the brace down.

I'm enjoying this. Good decision on the aluminium. Only transferring damage to places you really don't want it.

You've definitely prolonged the life of hundreds and hundreds of these tamiya hot shots, awesome. I also like how much stronger you made them. On a slightly different tack, i got my tamiya bruiser look a like today and i want to lock the diffs, do you know the name and part number of the pins needed to do it and where might i get a couple of them. Great video. 😀👍👍👍

Should be about the same strength in terms of overall arm durability but that pivot point will be way more resilient. Yeah everyone "borrows" designs in this industry!

I just realised. Your lower arms are all v.1 V.2 lower arms are nearly identical but have the proviso for the Hotshot II/Super Hotshot/Boomerang front and rear CVA shock mounts. Something I only noticed since I just got a basketcase Hotshot myself, & have been looking at shock changes/upgrades.
@AMPROEngineering

Interesting, so the HS2 has added holes but the same geometry?
@ss9c1
@ss9c1 6 жыл бұрын
Yes, one of the triangular holes is filled in except for a small through hole for a screw. There is a bracket for the shock mount that fits in the recess and it is attached to the lower arm by a screw & nut. This is the latter version of the arms, notice one triangle is filled except for a screw hole. The lower shock mount bracket attaches here. www.ebay.com/itm/New-Tamiya-F-Part-Tree-Boomerang-Hot-Shot-Super-Hot-Shot-Front-Arm-9005867/223125706401?epid=1305733610&hash=item33f35416a1:g:DxkAAMXQLs5RuyiQ in the lower corner of this listings metal parts bag ar the 2 lower cva shock mount brackets www.ebay.com/itm/NEW-TAMIYA-SUPERSHOT-Pressed-Metal-Parts-HOTSHOT-SUPER-TP16/312014122663?epid=1042533575&hash=item48a57daea7:g:mIQAAOSw8UZaH7~i

That's a great question. On this car they are decorative but on the cars using the mechanical spead control that was where the resistors went. It was a very neat design concept.

They still wont allow a lipo to be exposed at all. Needs to be in a chassis and under a body.

I think TBG makes a body called the Dart that is for the Hotshot. I looks like they designed it to cover the top of the battery. Combine that with the battery compartment modification and you should be good to go.
