2052 is retired, but 2051 is still continuing to work in the Oakland Amtrak Yard.

I'm a fan of amtracks but sadly I'm in Canada and we don't see amtracks near my area THERE in Ontario also with the Ontario go train but lucky we see a train called amt in Canada not in USA like more trains are like but amt is in fact an amtrack but not the one in usA that amt in Canada near my area Montreal that does not use the horn that much but every engine it has I know the horn because it's on youtube lol

Why do they have Surfliner and standard Amtrak carriages

Almost all regular Surfliner consists have at least one Superliner car for extra capacity. In this video many of the trains are running with additional cars from Amtrak California's other services as well.

Gonzalo G Trujillo it was when the highway's were unusable and and originally there weren't enough trains to do the job so cal trains(amtrak California) helped amtraks surfliner

Plus the same train needs to go South bound and Northbound back , and long trains need a engine and a Dpu because the Dpu is the pusher for long trains and I love trains
