In South Africa we call the crepes pancakes. They are a South African staple, we love having them when iy is rainy and cold - traditionally we sprinkle them with cinnamon sugar and roll them up. Rainy weather = cinnamon sugar pancakes. They even bake them in front of our grocery stores, so you can buy some on rainy days when you are done grocery shopping.

In England on Shrove Tuesday those 'crepes' are what we call our pancakes. Serve with a sprinkle of lemon and sugar. YUM! Depending where you live in England there are other toppings. But this is the simplest and very delicious. :) from a Brummie Brit in Ontario Canada.

A new thing I started doing was putting CORN NUTS as a garnish on my soups like Posole. Even though I have corn AND hominy in there already. They all play a roll and giving a different texture and taste to your dish. The only thing is regular corn nuts is too salty so you either have to buy no salt or low sodium ones online or factor the salt from the corn nuts and omit most of the salt from your dish. Do what works! Love your videos! You are certainly a blessing helping everyone who watches these videos. God bless you and your family!

Thanks for making crepes and German pancakes in real time. I am 75 and have never made either but I definitely want to try crepes. I think my hubby would like them. I like when you slow down and show what ingredients you are using and demonstrating what you are doing. When I cook rice, after it boils, I move the pot to the smallest gas burner, turn it to the lowest temperature and cook for 20 minutes with the lid on and then turn it off and let it set for 10 minutes. Perfect rice every time. I’ve made beans and rice in separate pots but I like this idea of cooking it together. I usually make beans and rice with leftover rice. I, too, cook black beans from package and freeze in one cup portions. It’s just me and my hubby. When I start cooking dinner, hubby comes out and says, “What can I do to help.” I love that and I always give him something real to do. He also jumps in and we clean up together. Retirement together is fantastic.

If you don't want to mix fruit for the yogurt, just a strawberry jam (with or without chunks) will do fine. Put a layer of it on the bottom and cover it with the yogurt. Each spoonful you get (if you dip down to the bottom) will have a bit of the fruit/jam on it). It's a lot like they sell them. I eat "Skyr" these days, which is an Icelandic type yogurt (it tastes so nice and it has extra protein). They started selling that in my Lidl & Aldi recently. 59 cents a container (mixed with fruit), but they have the large tubs / plain ones too.

My mom would always make crepes for my birthday breakfast. She would fill them with fresh peaches mixed in a little sugar and top them with whipped cream. So good, and so many memories
