I bought Minor threat Discography on cassette first and then years later I bought it again on CD. I love that CD and cannot live without it. that CD shaped my life back in HS.

Ah crap, stumbled upon this interview again, watched the whole thing again, and it's 5:30 AM... again. But it's totally worth it.

Thank you so much for posting this. I was watching Keith Morris doing a Q&A and found this. I can't imagine who would dislike this but whatever. I will say that I am so grateful to be able to listen to one of my favorite people who plays music on the entire planet speaking honestly about a ton of topics. Selfishly I wish I could have asked him everything I want to know. I would imagine that the straight edge question is asked all the time...great answer. All bands Ian has been in are superior.

A lot of bands already do it, but it would be great if more big(ger) bands use their own power to get new or small but talented bands in the open. Like Sonic Youth did with Nirvana, or Nirvana tried to do with the Wipers.

Did none of these yuppies raise their hand when he said anyone listen to music at fifteen, sixteen? That is kind of mind blowing to me, music was my salvation through school. Given I am a musician and grew up around music, both of my parent being musicians as well, but I couldn't imagine not being into music in high school! it seems that is when everyone else finally caught up and started to identify with at least one type of music. Geez where are these kids from?!

I would argue that they are. Not so much in the, "do they have a 'traditional punk,' (however you would choose to construe that) sound to their music," but more their ethics and actions as a band.

I wouldn't have either. I took it to mean, as he said "who started to listen to music at 15". I was already obsessive over music when I was 4. I took it the same way as the audience, as if 15 was a very late age to start getting into music.

@1:26:30 Finally someone gets it. I am so anti-booking agent. "your booking agent will leverage his bigger bands to get you a show in one of the venues that he already books. What that means is, he will threaten to not book his $2000 - $5000 a night beer-selling band at a venue unless they take you for $300 at a later date. Gives you confidence you’re going to get treated well by the promoter, right?"
