Rory there are no videos I've seen with you that do not draw me in. You seem like a wonderful man and I learn a great deal from your time spent doing these vlogs so thank you and enjoy your good work as I'm sure so many of us do. May you continue for a very long time. I am studying Gestalt albeit a short two day course. I wanted to get ahead and this video was a very firm beginning of my learning. Karen you presented it so well and I loved the humour, but... Only kidding.... and I look forward to following more of your stuff.

Lovely lady. I'm finding as a tenderfoot counselling student, that while theories of counselling and therapy can routinely engender resistance and critique, exposure to a living person who might embody particular theories is something very different. Its not that someone so embodying necessarily justifies or validates the embodied theory, but rather that there is something very valuable in a person who is a balanced and authentic whole. I shall remember the "no buts in this house" admonition.

I was turned off Gestalt by what I had read and heard about PERLS, however, I seem to naturally work in a Gestalt fashion a lot of the time. I am still in training, so am adapting and changing as I learn. Thank you for this input, it has been interesting to listen to a contemporary view of Gestalt

Thanks for the outline on gestalt therapy. It's true that readings on gestalt therapy can be very difficult at times... such as "Gestalt Therapy: Excitement and Growth in the Human Personality (1951)

Thank you for this video! I am in my Master's program, and way back at the beginning of my Bachelor's, I fell in love with Gestalt. I hadn't gone back to study it yet, and with this video it reminded me of why I love it. I like combining it with CBT and Reality Theory or RET... your thoughts, as I begin my career in counseling. :) I'm an existentialist/humanist.

Good video, but one tiny criticism. The video is only really good for people who already have an awareness of Gestalt and needs the therapy expanding further. I had to watch an introductory video on another channel, before getting any insight from this one. I feel this video is not really an "introduction", but more of a "further explanation". Great channel by the way 🙂👍
