thanks for the review - reminds me of when my dad bought me a 4-pack after id passed my gcse's (1989?) - i think he just thought it was a regular beer ! sitting there on the sofa after two cans with the room spinning trying to style it out in front of the parents...ah those were the days.

Wow! This is worth a sub alone, just commented in another video the old SB 9% was my old drink and always been curious about what an old can would be like. From memory the last 9% cans were produced in 2015. I still haven’t got over the loss……

Used to love the occasional 9% SB back in the day. Chilled almost to freezing point, you didn't want to drink that sucker warm! Lovely on a hot day. Not so much a beer more a liquid tranquiliser!

Madam director now thinks I should dress for dinner every night, I’ve told her it would over kill if I fancy a kebab but she’s having none of it ! This wasn’t bad, I was expecting an oily vinegary mess, pleasantly surprised.

I quite like special brew, only ever had the more recent 7.5% version though. Had a 10% Faxe beer more recently but weirdly that went down easy lol definitely not one I would buy again though.

Haze likely to be from temperature changes, polypeptides and polyphenols in the beer form a permanent haze after repeated heating and cooling - that being said great to see its palatable after all this time

I'm still drinking SB, but it's getting prohibitively expensive. I've tried several of the Polish equivalents but nothing tastes quite as good as the old original 9% version. A real shame it's no longer available.

Can't honestly remember the old 9, but the 7.5 was enjoyable, but as you said stupidly expensive.

Funny that, 2009 was the last time I had one of these, I reckon. It was weird how tasty they were. Syrupy and malty were always my favorite types of beers. However they did make you stink. Oh, to be 18 again.
