Vervet Monkey Foundation i wish i could donate but at this time im getting back on my feet after a car accident and being out of work for almost a yr. However here soon hope to be getting back to work and id love to help maby only $5 a month something like that im a single mom now but i figure if everyone just gave $5 imagine what could be done for these babies. There's something in their eyes that touches my heart and very soul. I feel such a connection i cant explain it it must be in our DNA for sure lol.
@VervetMonkey6 жыл бұрын
April London I feel the same connection! And as for $5 a month, you’re exactly right, even that especially if everyone subscribed donated $5 a month, that would make a huge difference and would basically allow us to never need financial help again! Thank you for watching!

You're definitely weren't reading into it. Animals frequently know when you're grieving. My cat stayed with me after my other cat died in a traumatic way. She was still a kitten but barely left my side. I can imagine a baboon has an even greater understanding of grief with their mental capacity. I know this was three years ago, but thank you for sharing this with us.

It's so wonderful to see that there are still people who give everything to help these amazing animals. I've been working in Spanish animal welfare for many years, seeing and experiencing so much that has influenced my whole life and mind. Sometimes I think that I can not take it anymore and then I look into the eyes of our dogs and know that I can and must! Every life is lovable and uniquely wonderful and I do not regret a second. You are wonderful people and your work is characterized by so much love for these monkeys .Thanks to you all, I'm really looking forward to the next episodes. Rest in Peace little ButterBean.

Menoah thank you for all your hard work, I know it can get exhausting, everyone here goes through it, especially when it seems like there is so little support around you. But there are people all over the world who value the work you do and it’s great to hear that you have the care and compassion for the animals that do need you. Thank you for watching the show and I hope to see you around here more often. 🙂✌️

Animals actually know before we do. They have a higher sense of perception of sensing when something is wrong with someone. Just like the can detect when something is wrong with a human and when a woman is pregnant before she even knows herself.
@Sabbathtage6 жыл бұрын
I absolutely believe the baboon felt your pain. That those comforting hugs weren't just good timing. All of you at the foundation and that little baboon have great empathy. Some of my favorite stories about primates surprising us with their social side are about baboons. First is that some groups are raising wolves and feral dogs. I think adopting the children of a creature that can eat your children is amazing. I don't think the baboons were thinking "I can train this thing as a tool to help me.", that just helps this behavior continue. I think it started with "Oh my goodness that's puppy. That's cute puppy. I want that puppy." The other is about how a group of baboons lost all their most violent members when they caught a human disease from fighting over scraps from a restaurant. A new culture emerged in the group. The all-remaining males that were left were the more laid back, didn't like fighting and now they we finally able to relax around each other, show their bellies and even groom each other. These were pro-social behaviors never seen before in the male baboons and these behaviors and attitudes were passed on to the next generations. So basically they have a changeable culture like humans.

I'm so sorry for the loss. I know that not every traumatized and injured baby can be saved, and you've all worked so hard make sure the other babies survived, but it was still so heartbreaking to see. But at least he had great people to love and care for him in the end. Also, I have no doubt that the baby baboon sensed your sadness and was comforting you. There are so many documented cases of animals communicating with, caring for, protecting, grieving for, and even empathizing with those of other species. And I try to never doubt an animal's emotional capacity.

Aww, it's such a somber feeling to hear of little Butter bean's passing. Unfortunately death is a part of life. It had to cut so deep watching him struggle. Yet, by God's amazing grace, a baboon of all comforters was sent to help ease the sorrow. Humans fail to give credit to how observant animals truly are.
