39:14 you know what, following what you said about characters doing stupid things, I also thought that it would have been easier for Gaby to go look for her gun on the safe box and get it dirty with Alejandro’s finger prints and then place it in his pocket, just to justify defense, and then the problem would’ve been over.

As a Black Autistic Queer woman I really appreciate how you spoke about parts of my identity specifically the injustices the show had around them. And I just wanted to give you a shoutout for that you could have just glossed over them but you didn't so thank you so much. I can't wait for the next recap.

This is so sweet, thank you so much for the comment 🥺 some of it is definitely tricky territory-especially season two-because I certainly can't (nor do I wish to) speak on behalf of Black viewers of the show. I'd also feel irresponsible if I did a recap and pretended zero issues existed within the many types of representation the show has-some that I am affected by, some not. I'm glad you liked the balance I landed on and enjoyed the recaps. Thank you so much for watching ♥️♥️

yesss I got monetized like 3 weeks ago and I've made an estimated $70 so far 😭🙏🙏 the little extra funds for future videos is really nice; I definitely hope to get some better gear soon! And def do let me know if the ads are too many !! I know there's a pre-video ad and then there are 2, I believe, during the video. It's wild bc when I first enabled the mid-roll ads, KZbin placed like 11 of them so I manually did it instead.... like girl relax omgg 😭😭😭😭

I binged all eight episodes of this over the weekend and man did the memories of the show come flooding back!! I really didn’t care for Bree’s ending, and I wish we saw them through the ages like Lynette. She goes from CEO to grandma which is a nice touch but the other women of the lane just get quick moments. I am so excited for the future of your channel because if you ever get to the Pushing Daisies video I’m there!! I’m not sure if you’re looking for show recommendations but Pushing Daisies reminded me of Wonderwall and I think they were coming out around the same time? It might be worth a watch!

Also, the final season’s arc could’ve been so sickening and groundbreaking if they done it w/ a different character. Not a pedophile, r-word that broke into someone’s home after sundown. Imagine if one of the women had accidentally killed a beloved neighbor on the street and it truly was an accident. They would have to band together and keep a united front to the street in order to keep their secret. Said dead neighbor’s family moves into their relative’s old house to investigate why their relative is suddenly missing…chaos and calamity ensues throughout the season.
@AbbyByrne8 ай бұрын
It could've been cool to parallel the season 1 investigation in that way, but I'm also of the opinion that by this point in the show, nothing big should be introduced. That's also why I enjoyed s7 so much-they expanded upon already established characters and plots instead of dumping new info on us, which would just feel empty and take screentime away from the core cast of characters. And why Alejandro feels like a reasonable choice, since it's a core piece of Gaby's past. I can't really think of a character that could be killed off as of the s7 finale unfortunately. We've pretty much seen everyone else's families by this point/already had subplots dedicated to their family histories.
@EarlHodge-z8y8 ай бұрын
@@AbbyByrne I gotchu on not introducing more ancillary factors to provide for the “mystery” arc of the season, but we have Ben Faulkner, and his character development and involvement was a nothing-burger. The premise of our heroines having to cover up a crime is dope but Alejandro being the victim is just too fucking flimsy. He broke in, tried to assault Gaby, Carlos defended his home and wife. Regardless if he’s ex-convict is irrelevant, it’s an open-shut case, case closed. I vividly remember the fandom being unable to suspend disbelief when this first aired back in 2011-2012. What if Gaby, Carlos, or Bree had accidentally killed some random, tertiary neighbor (Emma Graham, Rose Kemper, Mitzy Kinsky) that we seldom see, but they’re mostly in the background of wide-shots and opening narration teasers…doesn’t matter who, they’re just a plot device(Monique Polier, Melanie Foster, the guy who was a casualty of Angie’s bomb) to create conflict for our leads throughout the season. Hell, Ben could’ve been their relative that moves into their house to investigate why their loved-one is missing. Turning the initial premise of season one on its heads, putting the women in the shoes of their friend Mary Alice. Would’ve been a great send off for the series.

Honestly I wish they had found a Based Dominican order priest for Carlos to confess to or get spiritual direction from. One Dominican priest I know has spoken with male villagers in lawless areas (where corrupt officials were paid by trash to look the other way while the trash SA’d women and children repeatedly) and the male villagers had to act in Self Defense or Defense of Others. They took out the trash permanently and the priest gave them peace that they did the right thing to protect their loved ones. That is what poor Carlos deserved to hear 🩷🥺. Carlos acted in Defense of his wife who was about to get SA’d or worse and did nothing wrong legally or morally IMO. 🩷 Carlos was a hero and I love him for protecting her! 🥹💕
