I like all the three changes you did to your clothes ❤. As someone who loves sewing, I want to add that a sewing machine hasn’t to be expensive. I only sew with very old sewing machines and never would buy a modern one. The old ones are (for example an old singer) as good as the modern ones or even better. The old ones are always repairable, the expensive modern ones aren’t. The old ones are very cheap, you can get one for about 50 € (here in Germany). Maybe you have to clean and oil it, but the most machines will work perfectly then.

Also, in the states, the libraries sometimes have some to lend for free, and you can use the ones in the larger JoAnn stores that have craft spaces.

Such a great idea to swap our buttons, which also works for old wool coats (there are many in Thrift Store, though the buttons are usually awful). I sew a lot of my dresses and once made one with the buttons unequal distances apart. No one said anything, but they would always stare at them, which made me laugh afterwards.

Ana!! I think *you* are so full of beauty, harmony and symmetry! I truly loved these 3 ideas and I'm proud of you promoting that it's easy enough to hand sew. Well, ok, because I'm all about hand sewing myself, but there's a certain zen and satisfaction in completing projects with simply a needle and thread. I do macrame so maybe I'll try a little macrame edge for one of my pants that are a bit on the short side, too. Hope you find other fun ideas to revamp more clothes! 💖

What good choices you made here! You seem to be becoming more yourself all the time, if that makes sense. I have begun to embrace visible mending, as introduced to me by The Green Wrapper vlog. I am a senior woman in the north woods of Michigan with a house full of "what if?" My strategy is to use up what is reasonable and pass the rest to someone who can use it. More and more I require less and less! I have begun creating Zokin cleaning cloths from old t-shirts for my dishcloths . The first ones were utilitarian to a degree, but I realized I could draw pictures with a needle and they would still function beautifully (pun intended) and keep my busy creative mind and hands happy. Thank you for your calm reflections, your continuing search for beauty and inspiration, and the glimpses of another world that you provide your online community! Happy holidays and stay warm!

I’ve done boro stitching on a blue shirt I was tired of. It is a Japanese embroidery that is very old and rather monochromatic and I just love it. It’s very relaxing to do. I also love looking at photos of the really old garments in museums and so on. I think you might enjoy it, too. I love what you have done to these three items. I find interesting buttons are quite expensive and what a great idea to thrift a garment and reuse the buttons. Thanks for the tip!

Thank you for sharing these tips and techniques, Ana. I have used the thrift store button swap idea many times in the past with great success. Along those same lines, I have thrifted pillowcases with crocheted edges, cut the crocheted ends off, and sewed it onto pant or top bottoms for a different look. Then, you can dye the entire garment a color of your choice. This is a nice option for those of us who do not crochet, maybe have arthritis in our hands, or don't want to take the time to do it. The result is very beautiful. Thank you again, Ana. Every time I see a video from you, I stop and watch. Please take care. I hear that traffic and crossing the streets in Tblisi is hazardous to pedestrians! Peace to you.

Those red buttons! You took a nice shirt, and turned it into something playful and expressive. I love the impact of using contrasting thread. I have had some improvement in my health, and now the pants I am wearing are too big. I hate seaming....you've inspired me to maybe do some lacing up the sides with embroidery floss. No need to cut anything, and if I get bigger again, I could just let them out again... Hmmmmmm...

Another fabulous and motivating video,Ana ! As someone who has had a lifelong fascination with insects,I find your embroidery idea so charming 😊,particularly since it was inspired by Ernst Haeckel, someone who kind of blew my mind when I discovered his work.Such a genius illustrator of things in nature that are usually either "unseen" or considered unsightly.I find the way he made them both visible AND beautiful so uplifting. His aesthetics and eye for harmony are so stimulating, aren't they?! Your rendering is very cool,I think you did actually capture the essence of the image in your embroidery. It's just the right size for the dress, too, and the white stitching looks elegant :) Well done! You have such interesting creative ideas and you always look especially happy when you do these crafting videos.Your enthusiasm is infectious and even though I'm not much of a crafter, you've got me wondering what I could do with some of my clothes as a project experiment :)

Ana, this is brilliant. I am not a minimalist, but I have a most similar approach to simply using what I have over and over. :) My grandmother's influence, I believe. Two of the items are, indeed, skirts she made for me. They needed freshening up. I added new trim on the hem, which also lengthened them and made them more bouffant. Quite a simple process, but transformative! BTW, changing buttons is one of my favorite things to do. Blessings to you, and kudos on your FINE content. :D
