13:05 That is a nice bit of foreshadowing, too. Anakin is the kind of person who makes his dreams (or nightmares) a reality. I think it shows that, while outside factors pulled him in certain directions, the choice was ultimately his own in what he became.

You forgot to mention the part of the race where Anakin is forced onto the service ramp. A 9-year-old who’s able to level his pod, let gravity pull the pod down for acceleration before blasting the pod’s engines and managing to get ahead of Sebulba is such a badass moment for the Chosen One!

I feel Anakin truly wasn’t given the whole truth, of what being a Jedi means.

It was also Anakin mythologizing the Jedi as being these infallible beings who brought peace and justice. It’s only when he’s Obi-Wan’s student that he sees the reality - they’re playing politics for a corrupt Republic, the same government that turned a blind eye to his slavery and with Senators so fearful they were willing to give up their freedoms for security.
