the sundial controls the base amount of fuzziness...the chips will be more or less fuzzy based on temperature, so the sundial lets you set it back to "normal" as it varies...or you can just use it as an extra fuzz control pot.

hellbenttexasman Sorry to correct you, but, silicon is not susceptible to temperature. The sundial on the bc183 adjusts the bias, giving it more or less sputter.

a question...i'm searching for a low fuzz, and i heard the sunface is a kind of fuzz...but i can choose al kind of sillicon and stuff but i dont understand a shit of that, what should i choose??

IMO there wasn't a big difference but I liked the 108 a little more. Sounded a bit creamier to me.

Luuk van germaniums transistor as nkt275 are less fuzzier than silicone bc108, silicones are brighter than germaniums, silicones are more tone stable and you can used a power jack on it for germaniums you cant you have to use non alkaline vintage style 9v batteries.and both are very similars I prefer silicones bc108 or bc 183
