I really enjoy making scrap quilts. I find putting the fabrics together challenging yet fun. You've credited other online quilters with genius ideas and I think you deserve one as well. Your suggestion of copying, separating and cutting small templates for paper piecing, then rough cutting the fabric is genius. Thanks.

thanks, but I am pretty sure someone taught me that. Not sure who. Judy Niemeyer maybe.

Thank you for sharing! I love scrappy and crumbs. So most of the time I have a leader-enderproject for trips around the world-quilt. And when I just want to sew , I make a crumbquilt with no matching shapes and colors. A vriend of mine really like the crumbquilts. So I give them to her

I love using my stash for free SAL's. I have a lot of fat quarters. I'll pull a group I think work together and use that pallet for the sew along. I typically do not have anything bigger then 1 yard. I also use a pattern for an 18 inch block. I make it over and over out of smaller scraps then I use 3 inserted into the middle of the backing fabric to make it large enough or 1 block with sashing around it for wall hangings.

I was so happy when I saw the title of your video today. I'm all about using my scraps, and the advice and suggestions in your videos have been so helpful! Watching your videos, especially about the use of scraps, has given me so many ideas. I'm tempted to try Megan's scrappy Irish Chain that you mentioned, but wow - those 2" pieces really intimidate me.

so make make yours 2 1/2" or 3". It's best to do what you are comfortable with.

Wow! What great information! Thank you so much. Instead of pulling scraps out of a bag, you actually gave some “ rules” or guidelines to follow. Again, thank you!

I keep my scraps by color. I love to buy old magazine patterns off EBay and then build quilts with the last technique you spoke of, the color ways. I have made 5 or 6 really beautiful quilts this way and you would never know looking at them that they are scraps.

Does the block behind you with the black alternating squares have a name?

I love your scrappy Hunters Star. I’m really into scrappy to use my scraps lately. Fun and no pressure. I often use my scrappy put together quilts as backs for other quilts! Two quilts in one. ❤ Thank you for your channel. I love your opinions.
