You are 41 percent Nigerian. That is fantastic. Most black people believe they have Native American ancestry. But we don't. Same stories were told in my family. I have a theory about that. The trauma of slavery and abuse have a lot to do with our European background. In other words, our ancestral grandmothers were raped. How do you address the trauma? Create a narrative to address the mixed children. It's called survival. Don't lose sight of your diverse African ancestry. Be proud.

AMcB77 actually there is very significant amount of so called African Americans integrated with and procreated with native American tribes, sometimes to the point of totally wiping them out. But the powers that be don't want us to know this fact because they don't want to give us they owe us, what is rightfully ours (land and tax immunity). The reality is that the high % of " native Americans " you see today ain't native Americans at all. They're white people parading as native Americans, they call them 5 dollar Indians. It was time to pay the debt to the native tribes if they could prove they were native through blood and it was a very high percentage of blacks that could provide that proof. So a lot of whites came to the whites in power and paid 5 dollars to document them as being native. Effectively doing what they've always done, cut off any chance of black people having true freedom and independence. Sorry for the long beat down sis. Peace!!!

'Coolies' were brought in shortly after slavery ended to work for slave wages. They were primarily Chinese & Polynesian and they married African-American women bc Asian women were in short supply. Most African-Americans from that area her family is from will have a small percentage of Asian DNA.

A very small percentage of the slaves were from Madagascar (people from there are mixed Indonesian/African). The indonesian part can show up as Filipino (since Philipinos, Indonesians, Malaysians, Taiwanese Aboriginals, Polynesians, Micronesians, etc., all being Austronesians of ultimate southeast Asian origin, are all related).

You're the first Black person, since I've been watching these videos to say they wanted to go to Africa to explore their DNA heritage. Other Black people, specifically Black women always say they want to go to Europe, Ireland etc to explore that aspect of their DNA heritage and when called on it, they get very upset as to me it shows their perceptions are twisted for lack of better wording as they marginalize the African in them.

It's a physical geographical space, that culturally has nothing to do with people of predominantly African descent, and for African Americans to desire to indulge their tidbit European heritage far more than their African has all to do with a well taught generational indoctrination of "self hatred."

I got my Ancestry DNA results back not too long ago... 66% African (24% Nigerian)... those Native American stories were overstated (like a lot of us), but I was surprised to be 33% European. Phenotypically you look like one of my cousins, we're all mixed in the diaspora. Thanks for sharing your results. I'm glad so many of us are finding out our roots, it's changes your world perspective. When you don't know where you're from I've noticed people act according to the imagery and stereotypes media tells them they're supposed to be. I also ran my DNA through GEDmatch and WEGene. The results were pretty much the same (1 lower by about 5% and one higher by about 4%). It really changes the narrative from a slave with a culture built from being property to an African reclaiming their culture.

S B Children receive a random 50 per cent of each of their parents dna. Even siblings won't receive the exact same dna results, although there maybe similarities,...only identical twins do. Seeing that it is your husband's 5th great grandmother,...know wonder he received 0 per cent Native American in his results. One of his siblings could have receive at prospective small percentage of it, or none a midst the random 50,..considering it's his 5th great grandmother.

Kyla Live you should try another test im going to do the same..... my mother's grandmother was creek Indian, her grandmother's husband of course was African American she has a picture of her grandmother and her father together and she is clearly Indian but that didn't show in her DNA.... What's up with that??? we are going to take another test with another company to c if it shows up there.... She was happy with her results, but that was missing..... I'm happy with mine I love my African roots bt I wonder what's missing given my mother's family history.
@GuardianoftheGoldenStool
@GuardianoftheGoldenStool 7 жыл бұрын
+Best Piece Of Art If your great grandmother was Native American, she probably wasn't full blood. This is no surprise, if you know for sure she was Creek, considering their habits. If your mother's siblings test or her parent which is from that lineage or their siblings, & Native American dna doesn't show up in any of them,...then more than likely your great grandmother wasn't Native American, but of partial white ancestry possibly,....since dna is not dispersed evenly, & disintegrates in lesser components as new generations extend from ancestors. Remember we all receive a random 50 of each our parents dna, & that is broken down even farther as generations proceed. On the partial white possibility,....it is known several African American families covered up the history of European ancestry in their families, by perpetuating the lie of ancestors being of partial Native American descent. Native Americans did mixed with our ancestors, but mostly in the 17th & 18th century a midst slavery.

Welcome to Nigeria. Now, pick a tribe. *Edit:* There are about 80 Tribes to choose from: Igbo, Hausa, Yoruba, Ibibio, Edo, Efik, Tiv, Urhobo, Ndoni, Itshekiri, Nkwere, kalibari, Ishan, Fulani, Isoko etc. Non-native Africans instinctively view the word, 'Tribe,' negatively. When we say 'tribe,' we are merely identifying a language or cultural group, because each tribe have their own food, attire, music and rhythm, farming methods, burial ritual, marriage ceremony, different method of paying respect to the elders, etc. We view our many tribes as a wealth of diversity. Of course, sometimes, unscrupulous politicians use tribal differences to divide and conquer the people.

You do have very "Asian" eyes but it can be confusing because native African nations like the Yoruba of Nigeria and in variety of tribes maybe Mali.

Okay, Kyla.....let me let your viewers IN on something here! If you want to list down and talk about how much Native American blood you have in your veins, that's YOUR business and YOUR RIGHT to do as you wish. You DO NOT have to explain to AFRICAN AMERICANS anything about why you are claiming Native American blood whether it's 1% or 25%...you DON'T OWE these people an apology OR an explanation as to WHY you are claiming YOUR bloodties! Kyla...if you want to claim ANY amount of NON BLACK BLOOD that is listed on YOUR ancestry, then you go RIGHT ON AHEAD and DO IT! It's YOUR RIGHT to claim whatever bloodline you carry no matter the pecent..every drop of blood makes a difference in your make-up and YOUR reality, YOU DO NOT OWE (AFRICAN AMERICANS or anybody ELSE ), for all that matters ANY explanation as to what YOU want to claim! BE PROUD of EVERY DROP of blood that you have and CLAIM IT....and DON'T BE SORRY for it! AFRICAN AMERICANS are out here in the world mixing up their bloodline more than any other race on the planet, but yet they wanna sit up here and get all ANGRY when their offspring wants to claim their OTHER bloodties! They want to get out here and mix up the bloodline but yet, they expect their kids to ONLY claim that they're BLACK, and completely IGNORE anything else in their genetic make-up! This is SICK type of behavior and WE need to stop ALLOWING THEM to act like this.....CHECK THEM, and check them very quickly becuz this type of behavior is NOT OKAY! CLAIM your bloodline no matter WHERE it comes from...and RIGHTFULLY SO! Show less

Polynesian isn't Filipino. This test is misleading suggesting that, as Polynesia is quite distinct genetically from the Philippines even though it's suggested Polynesians migrated more than 3000 years ago from ghe Philippines. These tests dont ho back that far. Polynesia is 1000s of miles away from the Philippines. The biggest country Polynesian islands are close to would be New Zealand, still hundreds of miles away. Polynesia is a chain of small islands in the South Pacific and the Philippines is in the East China Sea/North Pacific.
