When I purchased mine Mexico, they told me to cure it with salt. Same thing, simmer the salt water until it’s almost evaporated.

I just purchased this type of dishware (a set of cups) & wanted to ask (anyone...plz help) do I need to follow this process for the cups as well? I saw another video where a lady cures her dishware by soaking it inside a large pot of water for 2 days...she stated that she didn't like the garlic method because it takes too much time... I would like to know (plz help anyone 🙏) if soaking with no garlic is ok? Thank you 🙋🏻♀️🙌

No you don’t. The curing process is to seal the micropores in the clay to prevent liquids from seeping through. In a cup, liquids will not be in there long enough to do that.

@@ancientcookware9007 Hello señorita. I just bought a clay water jug with cup that is lightly glazed on outside but inside feels not glazed. Is it safe to put water or tequila in it this way or do I need to cure it somehow? Thank you for your time.

Are all your pots lead-free? since you cook with them. If so where do you purchase yours?
@ancientcookware90072 жыл бұрын
Yes they are. They are inspected prior to entering in the US. We hire artisans in Mexico that produce our products.

How do you cure the water pitchers with there cup
@rubymoreno775 жыл бұрын
I've read that you do the same. I have also seen Cal Mexicana, mexican Lime used. You make a paste out of the white powder. You brush it on inside and out let it dry for a day and then wash is off with warm water. There ate other videos on KZbin. Let me know what you used I just bought the pitcher and cup. Thanks

The glazed pots don't need anything The preparing is for an unglazed pot !
@ancientcookware90072 жыл бұрын
That’s not entirely true. Even with the glaze liquids can seep through.

Why the garlic?
@Derek.LeStrange4 жыл бұрын
it keeps the integrity of the clay together. if the clay peels a bit thats fine! just be sure to go through the steps from the video and you'll be fine.
@elijahhmarshall Жыл бұрын
As far as I can tell, the garlic specifically doesn't do anything, but lots of people say it seals it. Maybe I'm wrong though 🤷. Plenty of videos of people doing it without garlic online makes me think it is an old wives tale.
