The concept of gay love doesn’t have to be celebrated by acting out sexual kinks on the street. It’s completely unnecessary. What has this explicit behaviour anything to do with being LGBT? Dungeon parties belong in the dungeon.

No, a child's ideas & feelings of sexuality, when present, are very, very different from adult sexuality. If unjudged & unexposed to adult stuff, it is vague, somewhat abstract in meaning & "innocent", for lack of a better word. It will come to the fore and be forgotten about again, if naturally explored by the child (you know, like playing doctor). But sexuality PUSHED on the child is a completely different matter, and can be extremely harmful. F ex. when I was around 7 or so, a kid in my class & his siter showed me something which involved partial nudity & imitating something, but not full blown you know what. (Sorry, trying not to get censored) And, although it didn't traumatize me, it definitely alienated me- I was just not ready for something like that. And to this day I still clearly remember that scene in detail, it had such an impact on me. The whole point is, that children should be allowed to develop their sexuality at their own pace and in their own time. And exaxtly the opposite is happening today.

It's wrong. I grew up in a household that everything was talked about and out in the open. I attempted suicide at 19 from the years of trauma(sexual abuse and mental abuse). Kids can UNDERSTAND from a young age it does not mean that they should be forced to UNDERSTAND from a young age. I feel I didn't have a childhood. Childhood innocence is something I don't know because I never experienced it. However, I understand the need for it. Children should be allowed to be children and not be forced to UNDERSTAND the lives of adults. It's selfish to force children to do so. Edit: spelling

I didn't have a childhood either, though it was for different reasons. My parents were overly devout Catholics and when I came out as lesbian they became monsters. Mostly my father. He actually tortured me in literal ways. The physical scars still haven't healed, but I can deal with the mental scarring. I was lucky and the girl I had a crush on told her own parents that something was wrong. If they had gotten to me sooner it would have helped but I'm still grateful that they rescued me eventually. My crush turned out to be very protective of me and we stayed together and eventually started dating and moved to the States when we could afford it. We got married last December. So I guess it all worked out even though I'm on quite a few meds for mental trauma, anxiety, and depression. I'm also in pain constantly from some of my past injuries, but it's just background to me now. So I'm doing okay. Anyway, going through hell put things into perspective for me. I can't support taking kids to pride parades or teaching them about lewd things. It's important for them to focus more on happiness and playing with some healthy learning. I'm glad I got the right to get married and people no longer attack LGBT people without repercussions, but now it seems like the movement is pushing for indoctrination and possibly supremacy. It scares me to see how powerful it's become. I have the same problem with modern feminism but I've already rambled too much. TLDR: my childhood was hell, I'm lesbian, I don't support what's happening to children, I agree with you and hope things are okay for you now and if they're not I hope things get better. I appreciate you speaking out and hope for good things to happen for you.

Sexual - relating to the instincts, physiological processes, and activities connected with physical attraction or intimate physical contact between individuals. It isn't just physical contact. It still have those undertones even if the two people don't touch. If it isn't inherently sexual, give an example that has no sexual undertones. Not someone doing it and not thinking those thoughts. Something that can defacto be said to have no sexual undertones. In everything that you search in regards to kink, it says that it is sexual. People saying it isn't is just them playing mind / word games. "Oh well, it isn't technically sexual because blah blah". It doesn't matter if you take a word and redefine it, it still means what the original meaning was. Yes, I know words change; but words are supposed to change in a meaningful way. It should never change based on someone's narrative or an agenda that is being pushed. What if I or others did that to a word that is used in that community and redefine it to suit our needs? That would be bad right? So why is it okay when you do it?

While aspects of certain paraphilias are not inherently sexual and outside of a direct sexual context most people wouldn't even associate them with sex, especially not children. But things relating to BDSM don't really exist outside of a sexual context and thus cannot be separated. And while children may not know these things are related to sex they are still things a child will question as they are atypical of the average world, thus either forcing the discussion or forcing the adult to have to tell the kid not to worry about it. There is also an overarching issue; that being the consent of those who do know what it means and do not want to see kink on display in that manner.

During my first year of college, I had a friend who lived in my dorm. She was a lesbian, and a radical feminist. Due to this latter aspect of things, I'd probably get into some arguments with her were we to meet again now - I got into a few with her back then - but there was one thing she had to say which, then as now, I found very sensible. It was regarding sexuality; let me share it with you. She said it to express her disgust after a gay pride event of some sort had left the campus scribbled all over with sexual graffiti. Basically, it was something like this: 'I don't want to hear all the details of straight people's sex lives, so how does it glorify the gay community to tell straight people all about ours? This is private stuff; it should stay that way.' If this is true between adults - and I largely think it is - it is doubly true between adults and children. Children don't WANT to be told about this stuff - both physically and mentally, they are too young to understand it; it is inherently not for them. Of course, as they grow up, this changes, but up until that point, it is inherently NONE OF THEIR BUSINESS. Now, if that applies to just straightforward vanilla sex, how much more does it apply to kink? Kink is REALLY private - sure, there may be fellow enthusiasts who happily celebrate it together, but that's inherently a niche thing. So far as kids go, they find just the basic concept of sexual arousal difficult to understand - why load them down with the various ways it's sparked off, which they can't POSSIBLY understand? I'm an adult, and I find a lot of it baffling - kids have enough on their plates already without THAT baggage.

Sigh. Listen, be proud of who you are, yes. That's fine and good. Hold hands and kiss in public. All that. You should be allowed to do all the same things that straight people are. That's it. There's a reason why we're using the word normalize. Bring it to a point where it doesn't have to be a spectacle. Something where "oh, I'm gay" and "oh, I'm straight" can be met with equally positive responses from the person you might be telling it to. As a pan-demi person, seeing this exposed to children instead of just giving them a simple explanation at home of "a man and a man can love each other the same way a man and a woman can, and the same is true for a woman and a woman." is depressing. Yes, that won't cover everything, but that's how simple the explanation can and should be to your kid. Nothing more, nothing less.

I am gay, I agree children shouldn't be exposed to this side of pride. Actually pride should honestly be more modest in general. It's perfectly okay for kids to have two mother's and family friendly pride in that innocent way. I'm very strongly supportive of same sex patent adoption. Kids shouldn't be exposed to pride like this. Promiscuity doesn't make grown people feel safe either. Get rid of kink. Dress modestly. Then lesbian mothers can consider bringing their kids to celebrate their family in a family friendly space. These two need to be separated As for the blues clues. Same sex families can be represented but shouldn't necessarily be pride centered. Like showing families with two moms, two dad's, a mom and a dad, single parents, or kids living with their grandparents. Innocent family diversity instead.

So do you feel that there should perhaps be a balance, when it comes to lgbt representation? For instance, I think one thing that sometimes throws people off is when lgbt people are represented in ways in which they essentially become token lgbt people, like in the case of a film that features a gay person and verbally makes a big deal out of it throughout the film. I mean, unless their identity as a gay person is very relevant to the plot, it seems like all that would be needed for gay representation would be to show gay couples in exactly the way that straight couples are shown.

I can only speak for myself. When I was about 13 I was at a friends house and we were allowed to go into the basement. I was down there by myself one day and I was exploring. They had a relative that had his space down there but it was all open and he left a porn magazine on the floor. I have to admit, it messed me up for a very long time because at that age, I didn't have the maturity (as many adolescents entering their teens don't) to really process what I was seeing. They don't know, and i never told them. But I don't think it dawned on them that they had many children in that house - some younger than I was, Who knows what impact it had on the others? Adults shouldn't be making the choice to expose any child to those things they THINK is okay to expose them to. There will be ample time later to learn about this stuff. Even though it wasn't intentional - I feel my innocent childhood was taken from me that day. How many kids are going to grow up and later feel the exact same sense of ... for lack of a better term ... violation? It may not seem like a big deal to some - but to me - it was a big deal - even all these years later.

If you speak about lgbtq+ to children just don’t really make it about sex as much as love/romantic feelings or the absence of and that both are alright. And hey, that applies to straight stuff too. Nothing about sex just yet or if they really wanna know just don’t go much into the details or don’t make them think they should do it too at that age. Being a girl that developed a bit earlier physically I was pushed a lot especially by my own family to think about boys and relationships with them and looking even physically attractive to them at a young age and it only pushed me to avoid interacting with guys out of fear they’d like me in that way, it was awful. In general a child shouldn’t really be bothered with the idea that they have to take part in romance and relationships of that sort, much less sexual stuff. Just, if your child asks about it then have that lil talk about “when one person loves another person in a very special way they might kiss and stuff and that’s okay” in a way they can understand without necessarily bringing up the sexual part. Now, thing is that many of you people are acting like everyone in the community wants to expose children to sexual stuff and you’re making lgbtq+ and pride stuff seem only about sex when it’s not. Or that all people who are part of it are pedos! I thought we moved away from that stuff already! Naturalism is one thing but what they are showing is purely secular humanism and satan worship. Though we used to have photos of nudity which is fine in our houses back in the 1800s and earlier 1900s but then somehow some one thought of it as wicked and through that out. Well legally fraudulent legalization since 1868 through it out. I think if we were seeing, feeling, and having intimacy whether young puberscent or graduated would be FAR better than seeing these sheltered, oversensitive, sinful people pushing sin all over our childrens books, education, mentality and life practices. What is interesting is how they do not want Followers of Christ to push morality like marrying young like traditional 1800s style young, being fruitful in the womb and hard working, worshiping the Lord Almighty on Sunday with no work to be done because it was the LORDS day; and YET they want to push their sins on us. What is wrong with these psychopaths?! I do not concur with everything she was saying but with the majority yes. Absolutely nothing is okay about bringing your children to Pride. It is a mature and oft explicit display of sexuality. Concepts that are dangerous to expose to a child, let alone healthy to subject their minds to it. By all means, if they have questions regarding sensitive subject matter such as nudity, sexuality, etc. Have an open conversation. But exposing them to adult behaviors such as Kink is going to cause problems. It cements in the minds of youth that such explicit behavior is okay in public. Nobody on this topic ever explains that there's a time and place for it all, let alone when is the appropriate age to even be exposed to such content. I have great respect for people who have fought against all odds to get the legislation changed and it still is very much needed in many parts of the world where it is still not accepted and is discriminated against in law. That being said, Pride today has turned into something commercial and eccentric and I honestly think social media has fueled it even more. I mean a majority of people at the pride parades I’ve been to are just dressed normally but it is always the ones dressed more extreme that people post about and it basically has worked to get even more and more people with the kinks to join. I invited som of my straight friends to pride once and they saw it as an opportunity to go “all in” because they thought that you need to look extreme to take part in pride, because that’s all you see on social media… when actually most people just dress normally, albeit a bit more colorful.

This is terrifying to me. When I was a child, I was r*ped quite a bit by strangers due to my mother's profession and lifestyle. My father figure at the time was a pedophile and exposed me to things I will not mention on here. Long story short, since I was exposed to different types of pornography and sex constantly at a young age, it was normalized to me. And because of that, I never really mentioned anything that happened. As a result, I became a very depressed, suicidal teenager with PTSD(other experiences during childhood) and an inability to foster healthy relationships, something I still have issues with today. On the surface, culture shifts like this seem like an obscure branch of moral degradation in a small part of society, but it goes so much deeper than that, and the true victims here are the children.

The problem with that woman and how she "engages" with a hypothetical child about pride and the apparent debauchery is how she frames it - it wasn't about asking the kid about their unfiltered feelings or for their gut feelings, she started the whole thing by framing it not only as a positive thing and experience, but she actually called it "amazing" and everything about the tone and body language signals, clearly, her feelings and views on what happened and has every likelihood of coloring the child's response. Assuming she would be the parent in the situation, the child is going to be put at-odds if they had anything less than a similar experience and would have to measure their response to the perceived attitude of the parent and any innate desire to get approval from the parent. I think someone more responsible would (not take a child to a pride parade in the first place) frame it as neutrally as possible, making an effort to make it as pure an interrogative as possible and simply ask "So what did you think?" Not gush about what they just did together and than put the kid on the spot if they had anything less than a similar reception of the events. What a knob. Indoctrination is always bad and I guess each side has their own cultish religions to forcibly expose the young to, but the left's is definitely worse.

It used to be that there were certain questions that, if/when asked by a child, were things that instantly sent up red flags for potiential child abuse. We're really taking all of that away when we try to make sure that kids have a chance to see everything instantly. Even with me trying my hardest to screen my daughter's YT viewing, I've had her come ask me about all sorts of things that I'm not entirely comfortable answering for a child of her age. However since she HAS been introduced to the topics and does have questions. I answer them. I tell her that a lot of this isn't stuff she needs to worry about or think about yet though, after answering in as child friendly a way I can.

Keep children and kinks away from pride, let them explore all that by themselves when they're older and if they want to. Pride should be about not being afraid to show your sexuality, to make a statement about being allowed to "be there" as much as heterosexuals, the whole topic of kinks and fetishes should be kept in private like it used to be. People who utter a sense of dislike for the LGBTQ community are often not even homophobic or transphobic, they just dislike the s3xual and woke atmosphere Pride Parade has gotten these days. I'm gay but it's not like I'll wear my kinks like badges of honor and demand acceptance for them by joining a Parade.

And people like you are almost certainly responsible for most of the gains in acceptance of homosexuality over the last decade (actual acceptance, not the fake 'if I don't agree with this I'll get called mean words, be cancelled, and have my life destroyed' "acceptance" you commonly see today). If all LGBT people were like you likely none of this would even be an issue. Unfortunately the loud extremists in the group are ruining it for everyone, including people who would happily accept everyone's bedroom habits provided it's not being constantly shoved in their faces or pushed onto their children.

im bi and to me pride is more of a statement than a "haha gay month". the city i live in doesn't have pride parades because its so small, but pride still gives that feeling of being seen and heard, instead of having my sexuality be the elephant in the room. though this could just be a cultural difference because my country is still sadly pretty homophobic, but i do agree that the parades in usa can be just too much
@xyanic2496
@xyanic2496 3 жыл бұрын
The "pride" is about being proud of that "we" fought our acceptance into the society and not just about to be gay or bi or whatever and that is a very positive thing, beacuse of that you can for example just right that your gay and you don't get insults from others instantly. But yes, showing his naked ass or doggy mask or other sexual stuff is completely irresponsible and does the opposite of the actual intention of those parades.

Not to ruffle feathers, but as a “mainstream” straight person…if the whole of the communities were to have this maturity as seen by OP, and the other commenters…the world would be a much more harmonious place. Some of my closest friends growing up weren’t straight, and we always got along fine, because there was MATURITY in the interactions…what they did with their partners in their own lives was none of my business It boggles the mind that part of the “pride” thing seems to be about going out of their way to either provoke a negative reaction so they have an excuse to be outraged, or to convert people out of peer pressure…

Disagree at age 5 but I do think basic psychology at the middle or highschool level should achieve the same result without destroying early childhood in the process. That said I also think the Public indoctrination system should be completely annihilated as it's the cause of most of these problems in the first place and too centralized a power system to not be abused up the wazoo! Also it sucks all the balls at actually teaching anything, it is the most innefficient method of learning possible and exists to break the will and psyche of children to create obediant little worker drones for factory jobs that are already in the process of being phased out by automation. Homeschooling, apprenticeship, and autodidacts, are the path to a brighter future!

As a lesbian I completely agree with this. Pride is supposed to be a place where all ages feel comfortable and included. Instead of celebrating who we love, pride has turned into a hyper-sexual event that welcomes CHILDREN who don’t even understand what they are seeing and I find it disgusting. It’s personally harmful to me as well because it enforces a negative perception of gay people on the public and makes people believe the subject is inherently sexual (which it certainly isn’t!!). This does not represent me as a member of the LGBTQ+ community and I hope this ends soon. Kids should be learning that love is love regardless of gender and that’s it! Leave the disgusting stuff out of this.

I was 10 years old when I was first exposed to p0rn, and I am NOT OK. I saw a variety of violent, lecherous material for two whole years before my parents found out and put a stop to it. I found it amusing to watch people being brutalized and raped and it became an obsession. My mind knew it was bad for me but I COULDNT stop and when my parent's cut of my supply I plunged into suicidal depression. It harmed my mentality on sex, and I still have flashbacks and nightmares as a result. My sister showed it to me after it had been shown to her by our YOUNGER cousin. By God's grace, I'm on the road to a full recovery. Exposing children to sexual material is DAMAGING and will NEVER be acceptable or beneficial to them.

@@Suge212 no there’s a difference between grooming and the positive indoctrination that is inherent in average to good parenting. Grooming has an essence of conditioning the child to overcome their natural aversion to things they don’t have the adult biological drive to be attracted to. Grooming convinces a child to be comfortable with/accept/do things that are frightening and overwhelming to their psychological defences and breach their boundaries. Children are mostly neutral/repelled by adult and sexual things, unlike healthy adults who are aroused or attracted by it (obvs with exceptions). Sexual drive doesn’t appear until puberty and physical maturity. Disciplining a child, however, is controlling and guiding anti-social behaviour in children to socialise them to not hurt other people or think exclusively of themselves at the expense of others. There’s a restraining nature to it. Moreover the tenets of Christianity may be disagreed with, and there’s lots of false religion out there, but behind the anti-Christian propaganda, examine what those tenets really are: teachings about Jesus’ love for you and that He died to save you, teachings about Jesus curing illness, healing demon possessed people, being able to still the storm and walk on water. Stories about Good Shepherds, angels in Bethlehem, parting of the Red Sea etc. It represents a strong but clean natured non-predatory God who requires you to live right and believe in Him. This is obviously an off the cuff list and not a full exposition of the faith. But those materials are not frightening in that heart-racing-feeling-unsafe grooming way, they don’t breach their emotional or sexual boundaries, they don’t teach them to trust in other humans to do with them as they please, but to trust God (who validates them by calling out predators and their actions). The two things can’t be compared unless you are talking about sexual predators or child abusers operating under the guise of religion: those guys are on the same side as the groomers.

here in canada, we begin the fully alive unit (marriage, sex, etc.) in grades 3, unlike history class, where we learn about slavery and killing right out of kindergarten. recently our school board has implemented LGBT units (due to backlash) during pride month - a great change, i must say, but here’s the thing: you don’t learn ANYTHING about LGBT itself until highschool despite the program, and students in elementary only learn what each colour represents (harmony, nature, etc.) therefore, i think that supports my point in which parents play the biggest part in teaches kids about their identities.

Where did y'all get educated? That is literally taught in toddler levels such as Kindergarten or preschool, real world problems are then taught later around elementary levels. Then so on so fourth. How would a toddler even understand complex history at such a small age? It's far easier for them to learn emotions and social interactions then allies and diplomatic treaties.
