Many of my son's teachers have been doing this for two years and NOT calling it anything. Two years of English with essays about how white people are evil. He was also told by a teacher that he would NOT be called on in class because whites have had "the platform" for too long. I pulled him out and put him in a charter school. Also, when he was bullied and harassed, simply for being white, a black student came forward to defend him. He didn't have to be conditioned to "be an ally", he saw wrong and acted on it...

This really breaks my heart. Martin Luther King Jr. must be rolling in his grave right now. He fought so damn hard to bring black and white Americans together and create a color-blind society that only judged for your actions. His dream was literally an America that was truly united and compassionate for one another. But no. The vengeful spirit of Totalitarianism (Fascist, Communist, Nazi, whatever the fuck you call them, they're all the same) are still working double overtime to undermine everything He and so many Civil Rights leaders worked to achieved. We have a bunch of Machiavellians and "Jokers" in our government, entertainment industry, and even our school system who will do anything and everything in their power to gain control over our lives or destroy our very livelihoods for that matter. I only hope that we learn from these mistakes soon enough to prevent ourselves from going down a darker path then we're already on right now.

I'm a teacher. While doing group work, I overheard a 15 year old girl in my class say to her friend: "I feel bad for what I've done to Black people." I couldn't believe it. She was really upset about it too. The more they talked the more I could see her emotions welling to the surface. She had a 90%+ average, she was friendly, polite, popular, involved in extra-curriculars, the kind of kid you'd want as a parent. This kid wasn't old enough to affect any policy - she can't vote. Yet here she was, on the verge of tears because she'd been taught she was bad because of her skin colour. I have been saying for over a decade that this stuff is going to cause problems. I was saying it at my board before most people even knew it was seeping into schools. Now here we are, 10 years later and I see more and more and more of this stuff every day. The scary thing is, you'd think people would start pushing back - and sure, the average person in public is starting to raise their eyebrows, but those in charge? They're doubling down. It's a mess. *EDIT:* This channel is awesome and you have a great sense of humour. Keep up the great work!

Can we just teach history as it happened, with no bias and no 500 year old grudge, and just learn not to do those things again?? Geez. We’ve wasted so many years fighting over the same shit instead of actually trying to get along and not shame each other for a multitude of reasons. I highly doubt people promoting this great divide even listened to or comprehended Martin Luther King’s “I have a dream” speech. He had the heart to wish for people to judge character not color.

Yes! I love the line about wasting so many years on racism. Why are we still having to reiterate that racism is bad? Why are we doing it by causing more problems and making it a focal point in society? We’re clearly not over it. @WorldWalker128

It's not even about racism really, it's about having power over other people. It's ALWAYS about power. Whether saying it's someone's looks, how tall or short they are, what their religion is, what their level of education or their sex. Anything that can be used as a verbal weapon to make someone else value themself less gives the aggressor power over them if the 'attack' is accepted as reality. It demeans the insulted. In other words, there are an increasing number of BULLIES. And almost all bullies are cowards at heart. Try calling out these people on their BS no matter their age, and they will lash out, either verbally or physically, and if it's verbal they will try to make YOU, the one calling them out of their BS, to be the problem. It also doesn't help that many people lack self-confidence in today's day-and-age and/or are stupid and therefore easily manipulated. Never underestimate the power of stupid/delusional people in large groups, especially when they think they they're standing against a villain, and they're angry. Angry/delusional people tend to not think clearly, and not look at a situation before getting involved, even to the point of ignoring what is very obviously based in fact.

@qanon ymous1 Is it really just the Democrats? This is another problem we are quick to point out when the opposite side is racist, because sure--there is increased racism towards whites and CRT for the most part accompanies anti-white rhetoric, but on the other hand there are white people using this as a moment to not confront their own racism or racism of other conservative whites that have existed for years. Dating back to Ronald Reagan and the Southern strategy with people like Lee Atwater who explicitly talked about how they dogwhistled to racist White southerners. The same rhtoric used by Trump to build his base. Because sure many good people are Trump supporters but the language Trump used appeased those good people on top of racists on the right. Ask the KKK and neo-Nazis who they voted for and it would not be shocking to see it was Trump.

My personal opinion, we can't end racism until we stop placing so much importance on skin color in the first place. The fact that skin color has become a primary trait in a person's identity is just ridiculous. You see people where everything they say and do is about their skin color, yet the people that don't care are labeled as being racist? I think that is one of the pillars of why we can't move past this. The younger the child is when they are taught that the color of their skin will define who they are the more value they will assign to it and the harder it will be to unteach that idea. The color of your skin does not define you, me, or anyone else. That is the message we need to teach.

It was never in an indoctrination kind of way either... I think my parents hoped us kids would end up making our own minds up and have good reasons for why we eg. vote the way we do. And certainly we don't always agree or see things eye to eye, although we do probably agree on more or less fundamental principles. I had a class that was, on my schedule, called 'world history'. Turns out it was actually being changed to 'global citizenship', a class where they say "to be a good person you need to be an activist." We first learned "who am I?" looking at who we are and our 'identity' and 'culture', then we moved on to "who are we?" as a school, same thing different target but with the added "how does identity impact experience?". After that we where taught "power and policy" and how that can 'impact culture and identity'. Our last unit we looked at other countries and peoples experiences there and then we had to do an 'action research project', basically "go out and be an activist, except its graded and you have no choice." I fortunately had the better teacher of the two and he showed it in a less "white people bad" light and allowed me to do projects that went against the schools ideology, but my friend was not as fortunate. Her teach would go on and on about how George Floyd was murdered, systemic racism and would force her students to only look at cases that make white people out as the bad guys or terrible people. I didn't learn a single thing in that class, we didn't a single bit of history. I also had an English teacher who totally bought into the whole "critical race theory" and forced us to read a book about someone being a 'victim of discrimination' and we had to write about that 'discrimination', she also had us make a comic of how 'we would help someone who has been discriminated against' and how 'not to be a bystander'. I also had to write another god dam 'persuasive piece' that was just asking us to shove our opinion at the other students that most of the time was the exact same brain dead school forced opinion. My school system loves to make little activist drones out of teenagers. Most of the work I did for both of these class's was with the help of Sydney's journalism and Jorden Peterson lectures and interviews and I thank both of them for keeping me somewhat sane while I had opinions I didn't agree with shoved down my throat. I guess I just have to deal with that while I get my education in a blue state.

As a teacher from Europe... this scares me. I teach at one of the most "mixed" schools in my city. It's very, *very* diverse and to teach there is sometimes very challenging. I have students from all over the world. Some even from war-zones. Most of them don't even speak "my mother-tongue" very well. In the beginning of the schoolyear I get a lot of "Is it because I'm black?" "Is it because I'm Muslim?" every time I fail someone or if I correct their attitude in class. And every time my answer is the same "No, I will never fail you because you are black, white, green, blue. I don't care about that. I care about your grades and that's all. Didn't study or didn't try? fail my class. Did you study and did you make your assignments? Or at least gave it your damn best? You pass. Simple as that." And by Christmas no one asks me if it's because of their skin colour or believes anymore. Focusing on race, culture or believes instead of achievements, or intellect or work-attitude is scary... Skincolour should never define you as a person, in my opinion. "You" defines you as a person. How you look has nothing to do with the capacity of your brain. And we really should stop blaming and victimizing the next generation for stuff that they never even did. We should learn from what happened, and improve and move forward. Not take a step back.... (FYI: I teach history and arts. Each year I give my class a year assignment where they choose an important figure in history. They can choose anyone. And then they research about him/her for about half a year, and they then present their chosen person to the rest of the group. Let me tell you: besides Napoleon, Ceasar, Washington, I also got a lot of historical people I know little about. The likes of Bashar al-Assad, Mansa Musa, Mimar Sinan, Jaalle Mohamed Siad Barre, Yasuke,... . My students teach me as much as I teach them. And they love that they can tell their classmates about someone important from their history. Teaching should be about getting to know one another and respecting each other. Not about looking how we differ.) ... Thanks for coming to my ted-talk.

I think the whole privilege walk was stupid but that doesn’t necessarily invalidate the areas of privilege that were addressed. Some were probably blanket assessments that don’t look at the underlying reasons why such as “isn’t white” but I’d bet you’d find “two parent household” in there and other things that tend to be massive privileges. The issue is that instead of encouraging students to try to afford their future kids the privileges that can be influenced, I can almost guarantee it was used to make the “privileged” kids feel guilty and the “unprivileged” kids feel resentful.

I just seen a ad for a black tv network and I swear if they replaced the word black with the word white everytime it was mentioned in the video they would of been condemned, black listed, and called racist, but since it was black folk it's not only said not to be racist its actually applauded in the media and news and they are said to be "so strong" for saying there racist propaganda. Not only is it disgusting but it harms race relations in the long run and if anyone says so THEY ARE called the racist. Smfh

One of the traits of narcissism is demanding people to follow your rules but they don’t have to follow those rules themselves. It’s only unfair and wrong if other people do something but the narcissist can do the exact same thing and it’s fine

@@kuwaitisnotadeployment1373 as asian, I also never saw any tv network related to 'asian only' or 'proud to be asian' things. Like... i don't understand the motive of most black people for doing that, like they want to trigger the race separation or something by their hypocritical statements and reverse racism. Yeah i know racism exist in the past they had been through, and we should remember the history, but we need to stop racism by stop talking about it

Yep, I'm not intentionally having kids in the country. There is no way to work hard enough to have a good life, dismantle the propaganda kids bring home from school, and all the other life shyt.

Has the phrase "white anxiety" been used yet. Kids these days seem to suffer from mental health and anxiety so much, but lets keep piling it on. Not long before they start having breakdowns and hating themselves based on something they cannot change.

I have come to hate the term “young people” or “little people” when referring to children. They are not young adults who are semi-capable of making their own decisions. They are children. Do not treat them like young adults.

I present, for your consideration, the following: www.theguardian.com/books/2020/may/09/the-real-lord-of-the-flies-what-happened-when-six-boys-were-shipwrecked-for-15-months I can't tell exactly where you're coming from, but I say that just because children aren't completely developed doesn't warrant treating them as passive objects. They do have some brains to them, and if treated as if they can't make decisions at all, those won't develop and mature.
