Agree on living with these devices and dial in "your" tone. One thing I notice having owned a few it's not always the amp model pedal combo you would think for a certain tone you're after. As an example you might be going for an AC/DC tone and think Marshall but maybe another amp model works better.

I’ve had a Helix for about a year. Lee is right on, it gets better every day. The danger for me is that I get pulled into the “rabbit hole” of playing with it to get new sounds and hours go by with no real practice.

It sounds really good to me. It may seem like I'm shocked because I am. I'd like to hear some clean amps from the GE300, something the Helix does well. In this price range, they need to compete with other giants like Axe FX, Headrush, Helix, and I suppose, Boss.

I spend 6 years to tweak my line 6 pod XT pro... And than he died... It was the best tone I would ever achieve. Now I need to recreate it on Mooer Ge 300 lite. Wish me luck

A true test of a multi pedal with sim amps is the metal or high amps. Clean amps are too easy to copy.

I think ge300 is pretty good for what it can do, but i really do feel it's not worth the price. I have the ge200. Its basically the 300 without tone capture

+mark ewing: spot on man. I'm basically a decades long bedroom player and I've had every Boss mfx unit over the years with the exception of the GT10 and I just got the cute but great for what it does GT-1. Still, I am now seriously considering grabbing this Mooer ge300 and ditching the Boss GT1000 - shocking for me! But! To your point, as I am a prog metal kind of guy at heart, yes, the Boss units [and most of all the other brands I have tried] generally are lacking with the hi-gain stuff. Still, the Boss effects are second to none IMO. I spent a lot of time recently with the Helix LT and the Helix. Out of the box, their presets sucked IMO and would require extensive tweaking to sound good to my ears. Boss presets traditionally are far closer to usable right out of the box. The darkhorse for me is the Fractal AX8. Have not yet had a chance to dig into one in person now that I live in HK. Very curious what you and others think of this stuff! @Marcus: That's a concern of mine - that the far less expensive GE200 might actually accomplish 80-90% of this new GE300. Thoughts? cheers!

Mark Ewing actually, the common saying is that modeling a gainy/driven amp is the easy part. It’s harder to mimic a clean amp because the gain hides a good deal of the actual tone of an amp

Are the GE200 and GE300 bigger and better versions of the GE100, or are they an entirely different class of product?

Amir Khalid I would say they are definitely better but personally I am not convinced there is much difference between the sounds you can achieve from the GE300 compared to the GE200. In fact the GE200 at around £235 is looking exceptionally good value at the moment.
