10:45 - Saw wasn't introduced in Rogue One, although it was his first appearance in live action. You'll want to watch the animated series' The Clone Wars, The Bad Batch, and Rebels if you want to know Saw's backstory. And yes, those are "canon", and worth the time to watch. I had originally thought them to be "kid shows".... but they really aren't. "Older kids", maybe...

And there are some savage scenes in The Clone Wars that aren't at all for children.

"They've misspelled Ferrix." One of my favorite lines, shows alot. The show goes in arcs, which I really enjoyed.

The pacing of the show is different from most others. You get an episode to establish the story arc, an episode to build up the story arc, and finally, an episode to pay off the story arc. No spoilers.... but after this arc, there is a "transition" episode that leads into the story arc that follows but isn't directly tied into it. Then you get another 3 episode arc (same as the first two in pacing), then two episodes for the finale. Frankly, I love the way they did this. It does follow the typical "Trilogy" format, if you think about it. Set up (act 1), build (act 2), payoff (act 3).

I'm on episode 11 now and I agree! I initially found the transition between episodes 3&4 jarring, but now that I better understand how they're pacing things, I'm fully on board 😄

@@shadowcatreacts they effectively made a masterful cinematic trilogy during Covid! .. astonishing. This part was filmed in Scotland - the hydroelectric dam being used as the Aldhani garrison ... and it looks brilliant. Coruscant was filmed in London, near the Barbican Centre ... looks very futuristic, and suitably depressing!

Love the introduction of the new mission and charaacters and then going to Couruscant and the ISB and how the Imperial beauracracy functions a bit. Hilarious that Syril went back home and his mess up made the Empire take total control of Ferrix. We'll get to learn about the heist crew a bit more. Don't worry. This is the first episode for the Aldhani heist

I can practically guarantee you’ll go back and re-watch this season in its entirety at least one more time (if not many more); especially since I understand you’re almost done in real time. It’s just that deep and you learn to appreciate those “slower” (hate that term) episodes you weren’t so sure of during your first viewing/reaction.

Hey, Shadowcat! The RAKATAN EMPIRE or INFINITE EMPIRE was the first galaxy-wide centralized government. The amphibious alien Rakatans were Dark Siders who mastered hyperspace travel enabling them to conquer the galaxy 35,000 years ago. The crystal pendant Luthen gives Cassian commemorates the first uprising against Rakatan control. The Battle of Mimban Cassian fought in was shown in "Solo". It was the muddy world where Han met Chewie and Beckett. You've seen Mon Mothma played by the same actress, Genevieve O'Reilly, in "Rogue One" and by Caroline Blakiston in "Return of the Jedi". O'Reilly will also reprise her in "Ahsoka". She is also featured multiple times in the animated "Clone Wars" and "Rebels". She is the leader of the Rebel Alliance and becomes Chancellor of the New Republic with her homeworld, Chandrila, becoming the new capital. Saw Gerrera was the first modern animated character to make the transition to live-action. He was introduced in the animated "Clone Wars" and has since been in the animated "Bad Batch", the "Fallen Order" video game, the animated "Rebels", "Andor" and "Rogue One". Andrew Kishino plays young Saw while Forest Whitaker plays elder Saw. Episodes 4-6 should be seen as a bloc.

Qui-Gon pronounces the capital as "CORE-uh-saunt". I think of it as a nod to the historical Khorasan province of Persia/Iran. The name Khorasan means land of the Sun / rising Sun / east. There's also Florissant, Missouri, a listed historic town near Saint Louis, Missouri. Originally spelled as Fleurissant which means flourishing or blooming. It was settled by French Canadians in the 1760s. Today it's considered a suburb of St. Louis which is known as the Earth City. Lucas may have had this in mind when he named the planet. Saint Louis also was nearly chosen to host a new federal capital in the late 19th Century.

I can't watch this because I haven't seen Andor yet, but for engagement purposes, I'll give you a suggestion to add to the list. E.T. the Extra-Terrestrial. I watched it the other day and couldn't stop crying. Spielberg's greatest family movie, and John Williams's greatest score.

Thanks, Shadowcat! 🏙 This arc is so good... and we'll get to know 'Mon Mothma' who we first met leading the Rebellion in RETURN OF THE JEDI (played by a different actor, of course). And all the stuff at the Imperial Security Bureau with 'Dedra Meero', pretty compelling. Imperials tend to be cutthroat and self-serving. Plus, the home life of 'Syril Karn' and the dynamic with his mother 'Eedy'... I just love it so much. Since you wondered about 'Saw Gerrera', his character was actually introduced in THE CLONE WAR animated series and further explored in STAR WARS REBELS. The more you watch, the more puzzle pieces fall into place. 🧩 #Shadowcat #StarWars #Andor

The dialogue in this show is top tier!! Seeing the inner workings of the ISB has been super fascinating to say the least, and even if you don't like the character/ what they're doing, you're still drawn in by them.

The episodes in this first season are arranged in arcs. 1-3, 4-6, 7 is a kind of bridge, 8-10, and 11 & 12. So ep 3 had a big ending and ep 4 is the beginning of a fresh arc, but it also expands the cast of characters and storylines and I loved it. I hope you continue to enjoy the rest of the series.

Glad you're enjoying Andor. Saw shows up more prevalently in the animated shows. We see if from a teenager through is death and lots of extremist hijinks in between.

I love Deidre and Syril as characters, and how this show illuminates that sometimes people with rabid tenacity for small details can seem annoying and petty, but it's people like that who often make the difference.

One can say what they will about the newer movies, but the star wars shows still tend to deliver. I agree with you for sure that the first couple episodes tend to be settin the table but we are eatin after that lol, nice reaction

Yes, the blue tiles on the ISB officer's chests are their rank. As you watch more Star Wars, you will notice that all the Imperial Officers have colored tiles that indicate rank. Dont worry about trying to figure them all out, they are inconsistent between movies and shows; its a big mess. There are websites and KZbin videos that try to make sense of it all, but they are guess and trying to justify it all; it cant be done. Just let it wash over you.
