Was this the first time you'd listen to Haley? or are you familiar with her professional history? She's been my favorite for the past decade or more. She's just got a great voice that hits me just right. I did look through your playlist of reactions to see what type of people you've been reacting to. I think one of the things that impressed me most with your reaction was your knowledge of how and what she was doing in the performance. I know of really only one other vocalists that has the same mastery of their instrument that Haley does. She's European (Dutch actually) and probably more well known from the band were she is the lead vocalist. But, and it because of what I said earlier about your reaction/analysis of the performance, I think it would be more suitable with something from her solo projects. They started in 2019 when she appeared on a Dutch show called "Beste' Zangers". The premise is 7 singers go to an exotic location with a backing band and each week one singer is the "guest" and the others sing songs that have some relationship to the guest. This was the second song I ever heard her sing (the first was a duet on Phantom of the Opera), a solo adaption of Gaga's "Shallow" from a Star is Born. Originally performed as a duet in the movie, Floor and the band, like PMJ change it up for this performance. If you liked Haley's performance (and I see you listen to Morgan James also) you might want to try this one if you run out of Patreon requests. I know you will not be disappointed in discovering this vocalist considering your great taste in performers. Floor Jansen - Shallow - kzbin.info/www/bejne/g2eboZhqlsRssM0si=3tRFT4RG8XHm5G1e

I posted about the vocalist Floor Jansen and I didn't link you with the band she sings with because of the genre, but i think i will with the caveat that the performance i've linked here is to the video that is the most reacted to video on YTube. Now, while that might not be the kind of criteria that you're looking for, it still has the focal point on Floor's vocals - and in this performance she pulls from a lot of different musical experience to create a most memorable vocal performance. And it's a great video to do your superb analyst on - plus, this performance is nothing like how a typical song is constructed - it would probably be a score you'd hear in a movie. And - their fans will show up in droves. Also, one of the big attractions for fans is watching someone's reaction to this band for the first time. Nightwish - Ghost Love Score, Wacken 2013 - kzbin.info/www/bejne/amjIkGxsZrSEjacsi=0dN3PifWk-8FpPuN **(Please use this link - there are other versions of the same performance but this one is linked to the band's channel where there are NO copyright issues - Additionally, this performance has seven or eight natural breaks that make for natural pause points in which to comment)**

Reminds me of Amy Winehouse. That level of ornamentation only works for top flight singers. Haley Reinhart has great pitch and musicality, and she can certainly pull off all that styling and freewheeling. Key changes are uncommon in recent years, but going way, way back to the 60s, 70s, and 80s key changes were relatively common in charting pop songs.
@antivanti2 ай бұрын
The arrangement was initially made for another singer but she liked it so much that she played around with it in her own time. On a day off while on tour they recorded a bunch of these videos and at the end of the session Scott asked if she wanted to give this one a go. She was hesitant because her voice was tired from the tour and the long session and was a bit sick. Scott asked if she could at least do one take. She agreed to one take. This is that one take

Haley sang Creep a few times with PMJ before before recording. Her first performance was in Lyon France. kzbin.info/www/bejne/anuacnqcgbNpbckfeature=shared
@theblackdog2399Ай бұрын
Not really. Haley arrived in Europe for her first European tour. Scott told Haley to find another song of PMJ's she could perform while on tour. She picked "Creep". They rehearsed it and Haley performed it for the first time in Lyon, France. That performance, now historic, is still on KZbin to this day. When Scott saw the amazing crowd response to Haley's first performance, he knew then that he must re-record the song with Haley singing the song instead. They next went to Zurich Switzerland and on a day off from performing, Scott rented a studio and recorded several new videos with Haley and several others performing. Meanwhile, near the end of the day, Scott got Haley to record "Creep". They performed two separate renditions of "Creep" and Scott's team used the first recording. No, Haley wasn't really sick at the time except for a little jet lag for a few days from her flight to Europe.

I enjoyed this reaction. It‘s nice to hear someone who is a singer and musician themselves give their take on Hayley‘s incredible voice and her use of dynamics. When you have experienced making and performing music yourself, you can get a real insight that others may not fully understand. Hayley has to be the most underrated singer of recent times, but also one of the best.

The whole it being a jazzzy swing cover... That savvy and sultry playful vocal she uses is what it's all about to bring that flavour with her performance and I've always found that to be genuine and genius with this type of remix as only certain people can pull it off properly like she has. I saw this video when it first released, being into electroswing and swing remixes for a long time. A shame there isn't more than what there currently is now
