Great break down of unit.....good video

Totally understand, just remember that the 4500 is a Dual player, so has two control units for MIDI or CD, this is a single unit and therefore is more of a professional and independent unit. Glad it answered your question though, cheers!

It works by setting up a network with a router for the Denon units and linking your iPad to this network wirelessly. If you are wondering what it does, the iPad connection allows you to choose songs, basically have a big screen that reads your tracks that you have setup with Engine - DenonDJs software.

thanks for your response, it answers it. The reason I asked is, because I currently have a denon hc-4500 and added the cd driver. and the hc-4500 you can switch from cd to midi on the controller itself and use 4 channels. thanks again!

Nice video, with the price of these now, I'm considering getting one. I am looking for a backup media player mostly, and this is definitely on my short list. Fader start is something often not mentioned on media/CD player reviews, but it is something that I am actually interested in personally. Thanks again, now to have a look at the rest of the channel......

Great video Andre, thanks for sharing! Just curious tho, in your traktor demo, the display on the unit did not show any display feedback from the software, only the standard 'pc linked' message to show you were successfully connected in midi mode. Is there no display tsi supplied with the 2900 then, or is there one but you hadn't imported it in for your demo?

thanks for the video I been researching information on this new denon sc2900 and this video answer alot of question that I have on this unit. How do the scratching hold up on this unit?
@andrecato11 жыл бұрын
You don't need the audio 4 unless you are using TS Pro. The 2900s do, as you said, connect directly to your computer to control the decks, then you can have the audio routed to your MC6000. Thanks for your comment!

Great video man! always look at ur reviews before gettin any major gear =] Im thinkin of gettin a couple of these to replace my dns1200's that i currently have. I made the X-over to traktor 2.6 from usbs and cds (but i still want the back up of diff media, not just laptop) but im split between getting these or the sexy motorized sc3900's. I been told to just keep savin and get the cdj2000n's but they seem be 90% the same as the sc2900. Which of the two should i get? or just wait for the cdj2kn?

I have the denon dn-mc6000 with traktor, if I want to get 2 of this and add them to my setup do I still need an external soundcard to my mixer? and I think you said no timecodes for traktor right? thanks! awesome review as always!
@NocturnosRockShow11 жыл бұрын
quick question I own the denon dn-mc6000, if I want to get a pai of this and use it with it, do I still need to get an audio 4 or any other interface? or this just goes directly to the dnmc6000 and control traktor via usb to the laptop??? awesome review as always thanks Andre!

thanks for the review, I noticed this unit has only one output, does that mean that you can only use it as either a cd player OR a media player, for example I can't send the audio for the midi to ch. 1 and audio from cd to ch 2 on a mixer? I will appreciate the info. thanks.
@andrecato11 жыл бұрын
Yup, you are correct, sorry for the late reply! Its only got one output and when its in MIDI mode, no output is used as the output will come from your computer or mixer controller.

I am confused by your question. I think the best way to think of this is as any standard instrument or DJ tool. It is a single unit, so yes, 1 output, it is NOT a console with a mixer etc. You can only control either a CD or USB or as a controller at any given time, not various... If you want something to do multiple, you need a console, not a single unit. Does that make sense? Let me know if I can help further!

How does this work with ipad?
@digitaldrag212 жыл бұрын
one thing id like is to make the jog lights work with traktor(or any other software for that matter) as if playing from cd/usb...... but other than that, i think this player is great! and another question: when using midi mode, do you have to connect both USB on two players? or just use 1USB and link the other via rj45 to the other player.... save on usb ports
@digitaldrag212 жыл бұрын
i meant the usb at the back..... setting up looks a bit complicated until i own a pair!! :D

Hi Andre, it it possible to have a full video or link to the setting up of SC2900 with X1600 from start to finish, please. For some reason I tried using the videos by Colin but he got me lost with his transition from the 3rd to 4th part of the video more especially with the mapping parts. Will appreciate it too if u have somebody in the US who can help me set up. Thanks man
@andrecato10 жыл бұрын
Hey Creswell, sorry, I won't be able to do that as I don't have the gear anymore. What are you trying to work out? Maybe I can help point you in the right direction for some good information. Do you want to use them with Digital DJ software, or just with CDs, or what? Cheers

@andrecato11 жыл бұрын
I really don't know, best idea would be to check VDJ and Torq sites to see if these have been listed as compliant to work with their software. Cheers.
@andrecato12 жыл бұрын
I really can't say, I am unsure what may be included in the final release of the unit, as seen on mine though, there was no information, but I did have an early model and I am sure there will be changes to things like that in the future. Sorry I can't be more help with that, but maybe ask Denon.
@andrecato12 жыл бұрын
You would not use a USB in MIDI mode. MIDI mode is to control audio from your computer through DJ Software. In USB mode though, you can use just one USB and link as you described above. You can actually link upto 4 units with a hub if you like also.

Great alternative to the expensive Pioneers
@andrecato12 жыл бұрын
Hey mate, I think about the same as the SC3900, the prices are different in every country, so no point in me listing a price. But I believe it is around the same price, maybe a bit cheaper....
@ulaev11 жыл бұрын
same question
@andrecato11 жыл бұрын
Not. Its got a static jog dial, so not an upgrade, in my opinion was introduced to cover more media, such as Traktor, which does not support the moving platter in Traktor Pro, as it only works in Hybrid mode in Traktor Scratch Pro....
@andrecato12 жыл бұрын
It will retail for around the same (or a bit less) than the SC3900, so about half the price of a comparable CDJ model.

looks cool, but having 3700 i can see that machine does not reproduce vinyl as good as 3700 or 3900, why is that?
@andrecato10 жыл бұрын
I think it is because Denon tried to make the player more like a CDJ from Pioneer, but I do agree, it is not as cool as the 3900 that I have.
@wowerman10 жыл бұрын
andrecato If they make player with bigger screen or wireless so you could quickly connect laptop or tablet then it would be great.

My guns aren't that big and I handle it fine, so I am sure anyone could use these! Obviously if you are a beginner, you may not use them as well as a professional who has worked for a few decades, but they are not a complicated unit to operate.
