How was he going to parse the budget to afford paying every American $1000 per month? He talked about taking money from prisons and such, but never actually said if those departments are profiting enough to harvest those funds. See, in Congress, they evaluate the budget finances of many areas of government, including federal funds for prisons. States like Alabama and Mississippi are very poor and rely heavily on federal funds for schools and roads and prisons. But after a review of those budgets, Congress decides if those funds are acceptable, or if they should change. If the federal funds are more than is necessary (meaning if they don't use it all up), Congress tends to pay less money. This means that Yang can talk about using money from different services to improve education and healthcare, but the truth is he has no clue how much money is really available, and he's not aware that Congress, not the president, is in charge of approving those funds. Obama had a hard time getting legislation to pass because angry white Republicans blocked him every step of the way. Yang will endure the same, after he admits to the nation that there is no extra cash to fund $1000 per month policy, or healthcare, or education. He got his funding through small-time donors, not from Congress or its federal budget. But Yang is more like a real estate agent at a strip club for lunch rather than leader on a domestic or international scale.

Yang likes to portray a laid back quality, a little too much to his own detriment I think, because to me it feels like Yang wastes his opportunities to advance the public’s perception of him (given how little of it gets pointed his way in the first place). So much of the news reporting about him seems to sideline him in weird ways, consistently, that I don’t see happening in the same way with other candidates. Because it is so consistent it feels like a bias is being perpetrated on me by the media who are supposed to be impartial. I was politically disengaged but I now have a monthly donation setup for YANG2020. I just love Andrew Yang. I love that he is offering solutions to problems that are coming not waiting for the economy to blow up and then trying to put the pieces back together I love that he is running for president because he sees a job that needs to be done and is willing to roll up his sleeves and get to work. I love that he is a good listener and what you see is what you get, did you notice what was missing from the debate stage the other night besides Andrew Yang? Substance, Authenticity, and Humor. What do you love about your favorite canaidate?

Oh wait... nope, those aren't downsides.

Andrew Yang: Becomes president My anxiety: Dissipates
@WorldsOkayestSorcerer4 жыл бұрын
If anything, AY's weakness is that he isn't a panderer. He trusts people to be smart enough to look for themselves. Which, clearly, most of America doesn't possess the initiative to do. Those of us that do, wind up finding our way to the Yang Gang, even those who start out dead set against the idea of the Freedom Dividend (I swore was socialism wrapped in a tech jargon bow and then I looked). The fact is that Andrew Yang is the president this country needs but the masses are just too dumb to recognize it because they're incapable of thinking in the long-term. Their brains are clogged with bacon grease and sugar.

I think that the problem is that most don’t think for themselves. They hear CNN tell them that they should vote for Biden so they do. It’s too bad more people don’t do any independent research and listen to all of the candidates, I think Yang would have the best shot against Trump but sadly he will never get the chance.
@paralleltimelines4 жыл бұрын
Lol I agree before Yang was a thing. Now after door knocking and speaking with people about their different views, I know Americans are smart.. individually. The hive and tribe mentality run deep..we just have to remind them about the big picture and Yang's comprehensive suite of 160+ solutions. You can feel the energy when Yang clicks in their brain. He can take this whole thing. We gotta make sure we get to the End Game.
