I’ve been working on the kick up to handstand for a long time and set myself the challenge of being able to kick up with a 66% success rate.
And now, 51 days later, I have finally succeeded learning the handstand kick up!

This has been one of the hardest things I have ever had to learn, and I'm buzzing to share this with you guys! Hopefully this will inspire someone to smash their handstand goals too 👊🏾

Wow this just me. I have the same traject but with little success. When I saw that I can't kick up to handstand. I decided to do it with frogstand to handstand so I did frogstand but have not enough strength to transit to handstand. Same thing with Headstand to handstand. Now I am stucking with the basic to build strength : pike push up, pseudo pushup, scapula pushups. Last week I began kicking again and I am able to get my hips on my shoulders but keep falling back. This is a modest success for me. Now I have to slow down as my right knee is not happy with this repetitive kicking. Thank you for relating this, it is so motivating.

2:42 DUDE WTF this is the first time i've ever heard this tip i've been trying to learn hs for abt 3 months now & while im ok at balancing once in the hs (i have multiple 10/20s fluke holds & a consistent 5s hold) my kickup consistency was dogshit (prob less than 1/15). i never realized to kick up with shoulders positioned over your wrists. I tried it just now & the kick up is alot easier i kicked up & caught it 4/6 times wtfffff. thanks

I feel this on a spiritual level. Ever since I started calisthenics, the handstand has been the skill I want to obtain the most... While never actually doing anything about it. It's not merely fear of falling, the tought of being upside down with blood going trough my head has always been a huuge fear of mine. I know that once I conquer it it'll be the most liberating thing ever...I just can't bring myself to put in the effort. I'm not as disciplined as you sadly! Perhaps this video will give me the right kick up to start. Perhaps not

Probably kick up to be honest - going to push for bigger things in the handstand =]

Instead of "kicking up", I recommend kicking up in a tucked position, similar to if you were to straight arm handstand but to kick up instead of using strength. I feel this is a lot more consistent than doing a split leg kick up

Two comments. First, i notice you always kick with right leg up... Switch it up. Second, try double tuck jump (bend both legs and jump with both together) , i bet this will be a gane changer for you

I actually do switch legs - I think I always start with the right kick up though so that is what ends up getting filmed! Still.. fantastic shout Steven as that DID actually help back in the day!

i've been working on the kickup. i've experienced the same issues; and i'm nowhere near able to pull off a frogstand to handstand...that's way harder. i've been working on back to wall holds where i try to come off the wall and balance alternating with kickups. i feel like i'm making some progress.

Yeah handstand can take a frustratingly long amount of time, but it does come eventually! Glad that you feel like you are getting there! Keep pushing, Lee

Can you clear something up for me please, Time in seconds, max holds for beginner, skills, core. Can you give your opinion on time scale for these two please.

hmm.. depends on the skill. For handstands, I would suggest aiming for 10-15 second hold times =]

I've been practicing for months and I've gotten long handstands but only after a few attempts . The problem is kicking up to balance point. Any tips?

this is going to sound annoying, but just keep trying. The only tip I would give is to make sure you are practicing with the wall AND without the wall. I found I became too reliant on. the wall which was actually quite bad for me in the long run. Keep going - finding the balance point will come

6:52 - what do you think of his courses ? I finished mobility + aaalmoste Calisthenics Level 3 Overall all I reeeeeally liked them but the handstand explanations are very poor tho

@@CaliToTheCrowd nope, they also dont claimed that as I far as I know. But my mobility, strength & bod control increased a lot. So I think theres "only" some grinding & extra content necessary in addition

That is still rapid to be fair. I had to learn a whole different handstand entry BEFORE I learned to kick up to handstand 😂
