Boring? Dude you just blew my tiny little mind. I'm tearing out my old bench vice tomorrow. You, sir, have inspired me to do better and I thank you. People like you drive me to grow as a craftsman.

You were wrong!!!. This video was not boring at all. It made me want to build a workbench. You are awesome and your creations are extremely inspiring and innovative.

Alright, well I'd rather say its boring and have you pleasantly surprised if it isn't

Definitely not as boring as advertised!

Thanks for the warning about this being boring unless you really need to know. I wish more were as upfront as you!
@AndrewKleinWW4 жыл бұрын
Yeah, I had to put that in half way through editing when I realized how dull this video was going to need to be to cover all the fine points of install.
@MJ-nb1qn4 жыл бұрын
Andrew Klein - It was a needed video, showing a good installation technique. Speaks well of you. I know you’ll Keep up with new and better inventions. I look forward to them.

wild. Saw Tested's community post just now linking to the final bench build, followed the left side of the saw blade all the way to Matt. Tapped the playlist on his end card and saw this was new. Now I'm off to find the twin turbo gears video. There has to be a gears video somewhere.

On a split-top bench, the tops are pinned on the outsides, so all the expansion happens in the center.
@Solemn720 Жыл бұрын
@AndrewKleinWW, was wondering about this myself. Since the hardware is fixed on the inside, will a top that's pinned to a set width on the outside cause issues with the vise screw spacing?
@al18434 жыл бұрын
Looking forward to getting mine. I’d consider including the screws to mount this to the bench. Not a huge deal, but I could see it being a bit of a pain if you have to run out and grab them.
@paisaconstructiondavid19644 жыл бұрын
I would not include the screws either they are cheap and in the worst case it just involves a trip to the store where you can buy other tools and shiny things

The drawing @3:07 shows the pivot bars as such that the notched one is toward to "back" of the vise, but @5:21 that seems reversed. Did I miss something? Also, I think this is an interesting and compelling video, regardless of if one purchased the vise or not!
@AndrewKleinWW4 жыл бұрын
3:07 is the configuration for a 14" vise, and at 5:21 I am setting it up for a 20" vise. The position of the notched bar is different in these two configurations.

how did you make the linkage geometry and how far does the distance between the screws drift? great video and not boring at all btw!

I seem to have missed the point/advantage of having a "MOXON Vise on a Swivel" mounted as an End Vise adaptation. Do you have a VID/PIC of this device in actual use? I have used a Pattern Makers Adjustable Vise for years, but, for holding Smaller pieces of stock. Couldn't the Craftsman simply Angle Himself 15 to 20 degrees to the END SURFACE ( the Normal View of the Tail Vise?) to achieve the same outcome?

0/5 Stars. This video was boring. Would not watch again. Unsubscribe. Ok, sarcasm doesn't really work in text, but it's sad that my text declaring that the above is not in fact serious is longer than the actual text.
