I didn’t know what to expect with Angela with Latin since she’s 78 and older contestants usually struggle with Latin but she smashed this routine. I’m so excited to see her ballroom and speciality dances she may be a dark horse this season she’s the oldest contestant to ever do the show and she proved age is just a number.

Yes, for sure in some of her movements, but in others she is more youthful than most young people. Those splits she is able to do are phenomenal. An aspirational level of energy and fitness for anyone thinking at 80 you need to be sitting in an armchair in slippers!

Angela Rippon is 78 years old. I think she was fabulous tonight for week 1. She brought class and glamour to the cha cha. Her legs are very supple and I was gobsmacked when she done her party trick with her leg up in the air. She’s a national treasure, get her a Damehood I say 👏🏼

Many of us will remember her fantastic dance routine with Morecambe and Wise a gazillion years ago. Her long slim pins and graceful movement made headlines then because as a news reader we never saw her in any other tv role. Now she has proved she can still turn heads!

Score - *7/10* Im in love with Angela's attitude she is so sophisticated and classy, the diva came out on the podium and she didn't leave in the Cha Cha, some really great footwork and cuban breaks in there were strong, she has such a lovely ballet like line and elegance when she goes into her transitions it's beatiful. She needs to work on her spins and also her steps were abit too wide but I COULDN'T BELIEVE HER LEG EXTENSION AT THE END! hah- she's nearly 80, get out!!! 🤩 that was worth a 10 alone. I can't wait to see her Ballroom

Score: *7/10* Oh my god Angela! How?! Either she is naturally born to Cha Cha or Kai is just the best teacher in the world. I loved how sassy she was and she really showed off the whole “You can never underestimate me!” within this dance. Angela is amazing and I was shaking through this whole dancing hoping that she would get to Blackpool Week or further than that. This is great. But, with the fur coat, it got a bit in her eyes and her face so it was a little bit hard to see her expressions at the start. I loved this. Angela, in my opinion, is the best elderly dancer in the whole of the cast (maybe even the whole show!) Love you, keep this attitude up, guys, and you will finally get to Blackpool week, Kai!

Hola Diego. Aj y Kai llegaron en 2021 a la final. Y realmente fueron espectaculares en todas las galas. Lamentablemente, Aj se lesionó su pie izquierdo y no pudieron dar su baile final. Absolutely incredible. She's the oldest ever contestant and she's proving that age doesn't mean a thing. It would be such a great full circle moment if the woman that started it all, got to the final. I'm rooting for her 100%! And I'm gonna defend all the celebs with dance experience this year to the end of the earth. Every year, there's some "controversy" about it and it's stupid. Imagine if they weren't allowed, we'd have almost none of the most iconic dances, including this one. Jay had dance experience and noone batted an eye, let's have some of that energy for Angela, Nigel and Layton and any of the other celebs with experience from now on please.
