She’s been singing since she was 1.5 years old and started with Billie Holiday. She won Norway’s Got Talent when she was 7/8 years old. She has sung for Quincy Jones birthday at the O2 Arena. She sang for the Nobel Peace ceremony. She has sung around the world. She started her originals age 12. Singing her own. She has had the best opportunity. She has been self-directed. Her family has supported her not led her. She had offers from Disney, and many labels. She was allowed to make her decision about who and when. She has signed with Republic recently. Her choice. She said they understood her direction and goals. One more tidbit for new listeners. Her band called her “The boss” She explains what it’s supposed to sound like as a young child and explain it to an adult.

I watched a compilation of reactions to this song this morning, and the thing I liked the most was, the age difference of all the reactors. Angelina is making music for EVERYONE, and not just a certain group. The only thing needed is for her music to be promoted, so that it reaches EVERYONE.

I love the way you recognize that some music out there isn’t worth hearing it leaves you with a noise chaotic mess. Another interesting point to this song is it starts off with the same beat of an old song called fever but she turns it into this unbelievable original that is nothing like that other song but the beginning beat.

I suspect the meaning of the line about 7th Heaven being a burden might be about the pressure on her to perform. She is now at the pinnacle of the music industry. What now? Life should be hope. Let go of hopelessness. Set aside bitterness. This young lady is no shallow pop star.

Now we know for a certainty that Angelina is not going to abandon her jazz roots! She is staying true to her early influences like Billie Holiday, Dinah Washington, Etta James, Ella Fitzgerald, and Amy Winehouse. There's no mistaking the artist singing this song. Angie has forged a unique style and sound over many years, regardless of the genre, regardless of the song. It's her! I can't wait to see a live performance of this, and also so many of her greatest to come. Angie's my daily dosage since I found this treasure in 2015. As I said in a previous comment, the Jazz Queen is back!

Thanks for your great reaction, Nathan! Angelina's songs never disappoint from a musical and vocal point of view but mainly they are all so meaningful and representative of who she is as a person. Also what she aspires to be (to look in the mirror and love herself, not from a physical aspect but a spiritual one). As you well said, there's sadness, bitterness and frustration in our lives ( "sometimes I feel all my dreams slowly fading"). The difference is how your are going to react to those feelings! And Angelina urges us "don't give up" to them, look for hope in your life. Powerful thoughts coming from a barely 15 year-old!

Fabulous reaction Nathan! I have to imagine Angelina was raised with the concept of 7th Heaven being discussed and likely with grandma Mery the one talking about it. With any great art, Angelina's lyrics are open to interpretation. For me, I believe Angelina is telling us the thought of reaching 7th Heaven seems very difficult (weighs heavy) but if we face all the challenges then we can reach our 7th Heaven. I agree hope is a choice and Angelina is telling herself as well as us, to remain positive. Life should be lived with hope.

Nathan, I have to admit I'm just about worn out by now explaining my feelings about this song and, in particular, Angelina and her lyrics. After listening to your reaction you are right on and I will tell you your words were extraordinary and you didn't miss a beat. Her self examination at 15 years old is a testament of who she is and addresses the doubt she might have looking down the road. I have confidence she will stay true to herself and not vary because of outside elements that will pop up occasionally to distract her. She wants to continue her journey and her mission to spread her love to everyone in the world she can touch with her heart. Her "Angels" are probably now in the millions and is the world already becoming a better place because of her? I believe so. She is inspiring all of her Angels to be better people, more loving, more caring for each other, and discovering opportunities to help their fellow man.

IMO, this is the third time Angie has addressed the burdens of her quest to “sing for the world” in her songs. In “Shield” it was, “forgive me for all that I am.” In “Million Miles” it was, “I’ll never regret what I do.” And now, it’s the whole song with lyrics like, “Don’t give up cause it’s right in front of your eyes,” and “Seventh heaven on my shoulders falls heavy. Sometimes I feel all my dreams are slowly fading” Also, “Sometimes I wanna be powerful, gotta find the strength within me. Sometimes you look for miracle but there’s nothing in you.” Yes, this IMO, is about Angie, but also a strong message to others with the lyric, “LIfe should be lived with hope.” So, IMO this is yet another example that Angie’s songwriting has true meaning to her, and is a message to us all.

I see the meaning of the lyrics like this: If you just let go of your thoughts and stay in the now moment, your worries and sadness will fade away, you will get your power back and you start to love yourself. That state is called blissful happiness, the 7th heaven.

What a great reaction and commentary Nathan. Could not agree more with what you said about all the "celebrated" garbage music out there..ie: Cardi B. Here comes along a 15 year old with more knowledge and talent than 75% of these so called "artists". The powerful message from this teenager should resonate to all. You are spot on Nathan. We Angels are so happy to see Angelina get back into her Jazz roots and hopefully expose this younger generation to what music should be. Since Angelina's first song, I was waiting for her to dive full tilt into cool jazz like never before, and she is doing it perfectly here with that dazzling pick-me-up song, beat, hands clapping, cello boosted bass and subtle piano, bleeding rasp, motivational and inspiraional well-known quotes and overlay chilling transition. To my knowledge, that song has to this day no twin sibling in her repertoire.

This form of jazz is an old style type that Simon referred to as 'Swing'. Listen to the first time he applied the term back in 2018 on Britain's Got Talent when an unknown named Aleksander Mileusnic sang his 'swing' version of Seven Nation Army. Both songs have a lot of similarity to them and it should be realized that, even with a not so special vocal ability he received a standing ovation from Simon, the other judges, and the audience. Had she sung this there, forget about a standing ovation, she would have brought the roof down in the place. People, I believe, are hungry for 'Swing' and who better to provide it than Angelina?

And don’t get me started about modern pop music. I embarrassed just reading the titles of some of the top 100 songs. And nothing against Miss Olivia Rodrigo, I like her Drivers License song, she has a unique voice, but I found it grossly unfair she went number one almost instantly with that release. And she’s no Angie. Her music experience is nothing to Angie. Angie has been honing her skills since she was 6 years old and performed in front of thousands of fans during her career. It recalls to me a line from the Billie Eilish doc where Billie's mom mentions that she can't conceive of a young star going through the music business without a strong parental presence. It seems to me that sticking close to her jazz roots will allow Angelina to ease into the business a bit more gradually.

I mentioned this somewhere else but I'll repeat here because you seemed to lock on to the instructive nature of this one too ... remember the line in Million Miles, "I'll never regret what I do" ... I had to think of that one a bit but settled on the fact that her grandfather, as close as he must have been, probably helped her learn that, if you just always do what's "right", you'll never have any reason to regret what you do .... now think of the line here, "Seventh Heaven on my shoulder falls heavy" ... I'll choose to believe the message is "it's up to you!" - it may be a heavy task, but we make or find our own 7th Heaven - it's on us. ... I think her grandfather's lesson is STILL guiding her. Anyway - may just be me attributing more than was intended - but I like the thought! HA! Thanks for the review.

Great reaction Nate. Loved it. You too had the unstoppable head bopping, shoulder moving vibe within 5 seconds of the start. but I loved your very fast and in my view accurate interpretation of the lyrics only half way through it. So that is impressive.. I also appreciated your words about how Angelina's manager and family are still keeping the train from running away and I think that is also correct. she has plenty of time to go the right path.
