89- I went 3 months no pay cause finance office kept forgetting to list me as arrived at base. Finally I went to finance sgt AGAIN, he called the main office and WENT THE EFF OFF on how every month I came in a told him I wasn't paid, and he kept inputting my arrival, but the main office didn't submit my arrival. Thankfully Personnel had my base arrival or I would have been considered AWOL. It screwed up my pay for rest of enlistment. Once you have an issue with pay, they just keep happening for rest of your career. 😖😣😖😣

Back in 2003 I was a merchant marine officer, I was working on an MSC contracted container ship, and we had a marine corp squad aboard for security. That un-attended rifle meme reminded me of an incident. One LCPL was a real Schmuckatelli. In a combat zone left his post, his rifle and the M2 at the post unattended for some jaw jacking time with the marine at a different post. The Cpl of the watch took his rifle, dipped it in our salt water pool for a couple of minutes the locked it up wet in his cabin for 8hrs before giving it back to the dumbass to clean….

We had an admin SPC in my NG unit who was supposed to deploy with us, but didn't (couldn't clear medical because her giant tits were too new). Through an admin mistake she was on the rolls deploying, and started getting full Iraq pay. She didn't think to send this up and correct it, took the Army six months to figure it out. They always find out, and they always get their money back.

Nobody ate the "granola" bars in the MRE, because they had so much fiber they'd back you up. So they'd throw them into a box in the back of the HMMV. One time there was one kid running after the HMMV asking for food. They threw the entire box of bars into the street and kept going. That poor kid probably died from impacted bowels.
