The problem is when you introduce and animal like the Mongoose to a place like Jamaica. They become invasive. They feed on almost anything than can catch, including people's chickens.

My cousin killed one of those iguanas. Edit: in Clarendon Wich means there spreading or human are spreading them couldn't tell if it was male or female. Edit2: they squashed it

I’m from St. Catherine I saw hummingbirds there , we had some lizards that we called ground lizards (they live in rocks) not sure of the scientific name , they almost look like the iguanas maybe they are close relatives .

I used to see Jamaican iguanas over Hellshire when we used to fish in the 80s .They usually in the hillside basking in the sun

I wonder how come the Coney, which is a rodent, is still endangered? Rodents usually breed quickly. I have heard about them since I was a child going to school in the 80s, but I never seen one. I hope to see one in the wild sometime when I get back home to Jamaica.
