"If you've been injured by an animal it means you've made a mistake" I love that you mentioned that Jessi. Too many people brag about bites, scratches, etc. that their friend's "evil" pet left them with (in my experience).

One of the main things I love about this channel is you can read the comments and actually learn something. There's not all this fighting arguing and hating that KZbin is famous for. That's a rare thing these days. What you're doing is a great thing; I wish there were more people around like you Jessi, the world would be a far better place.

Great video, as usual! I would love to see a whole episode on fish, so I hope you can do that in the future! I think these videos are looking more and more polished and smooth every time. (Not that they haven't always been great and full of great content!)

That was my question! I was shocked! Thanks for answering! :) It is nice hearing their stories even if they do not physically go out in public while they can still be virtually public. :) More power to your channel! Love from the Philippines!

GeeCee Thank you for asking questions :) I like watching these videos even though I've never asked questions myself, so I'm glad that there are people asking questions so these videos keep happening.

I've asked a lot of questions in a lot of Animal Wonders' videos already! Most of the time Jessi answers them directly using their channel's account. She would always remind us to keep asking, stay curious and to keep wondering! In some of my previous questions, I would always ask with hesitation because I did not study veterinary so sometimes I wouldn't know if my question would sound like non sense or if my question could be answered by common sense or Google, but I still ask away because answers from Jessi would give you a more profound, a more explained and a thorough answer from her knowledge and experience than just some answers through Googling. Also, she does encourage her viewers and subscribers to keep on asking. :) Give it a try! :) I am encouraging you to make a new post in this video and ask away! It won't hurt! Also, sometimes other viewers with their own experiences would help answer your questions too, specially if the topic of your question is about a specific animal or situation that others have experienced already.

I have a question about a two of my favorite animals that few people get very excited about. When a pigeon recently requested a tidbit, the only thing I had was a bag of peanuts (They were butter stock so no salt or anything added). It gobbled them up so eagerly, I had to stop for concern that I'd overtax its digestive system. When a sparrow joined me for an outdoor lunch, all I had was a homemade whole wheat chapati with cheese and vegies. The little guy's appetite seemed insatiable and it loved the cheesy parts. So my question is: What inexpensive foods are safe and healthy for pigeons and sparrows? I love feeding them but don't want to give them a tummy ache.

The goldfish problem may be tank size! There's a myth that goldfish only grow to the size of their tank but that's not true! They need very large tanks to live and will eventually wither and die if kept in something too small. For a standard goldfish the tank must be at least 52 gallons for two fish, and be at least 4 feet long to allow for swimming room. If they're fancy goldfish then it must be at least 40 gallons and three feet long. Standard goldfish are actually best kept in a pond, because they can grow up to 12 inches. If kept properly they can live for upwards of 20 years.

Hi Jessi, it would be great if you or your husband could do a "what, where and how" video on beta fish! I had one when I was a kid and know I didn't care for it like I should have. It'd be great to have a starting out point to maybe getting one in the future and taking all the steps to give it it's best life! Thanks, Meagan!

I love your shows, but this was the first time I've seen your saltwater/coral tank. Good luck with it as they can be challenge, although I suppose you are used to challenging critters :). We have had many saltwater tanks over the years, even made a run at commercial propagation of red bubble tip anemones. Unfortunately we couldn't make it work even as a break even/small loss effort (to reduce imports) and ended up shutting it down when we last moved. I'd love to see more in that area once in a while, but certainly don't stop the other animals for it.

Do dogs that have bad vision/blind lick to identify people? My dog has bad vision and licks quite a lot, she is kinda a compulsive licker, but sometimes she will lick, then stop once she has figured out who it is. Any ideas?

I feel like my family has made a terrible mistake. We adopted a leopard gecko (and renamed it Persepolis) from another family. It turns out I do not enjoy the lizard at all. He's fun to watch, but i'm terribly paranoid about germs, him getting away and dying, his tail falling off, etc, etc. We've had him for a year and it's not getting any better. Everyone in the family is ready to not have a leopard gecko any more. I've tried to get rid of him via the same route I got him, but it didn't work. Any suggestions?

I have a serious question.. How do you deal with death? I can see you develop bonds with your animals, but they all will eventually die, how do you cope? Having so many beautiful animals, you must experience loss. I remember having to put my dog to sleep after 20 years of love, it was the most heart breaking experience in my life ....

I have a question! Do you have crazy thick leather skin on your arms? You seem to hold every bird, big and small, on your bare hands. How do they not hurt you with their claws?
@animalwondersmontana9 жыл бұрын
***** I do not have crazy thick leather skin on my arms. Thanks for asking :) Their nails are all pretty worn down from the various perches they have and their activity level, so they usually aren't very sharp. If they do get sharp I give them a trim with nail trimmers or a file. I do get indents on my arm/hand when I hold the larger parrots and macaw, it's just part of working with them and it doesn't hurt enough to make me want to stop holding them.

How do you deal with animals that require living food? Do you sometimes feel bad for 'sacrificing' the smalles animals for the sake of the bigger ones? I imagine this must be especially hard for you, since you want to care for any and all animals you possibly can.

I'm wondering what your opinion of Zoos is. I know a lot of zoos are actually built, originally, to help in conservation and animal care. Would you ever consider converting to a zoo if your place got that big (I know it's an immense amount of work, and is it even possible?) or would you consider having Animal Wonder tours? If you've already answered I apologize. I have seen almost every video, I just can't remember all the details. Lol

"If you've been injured by an animal, it means that you've made a mistake" Not terribly true. Other animals are just as capable as humans of making mistakes or of being malicious. When dogs maul random passersby, for example, it's not the fault of the passerby.

This is a very cliche and annoying question, but I still think it needs to asked. Do you think it is okay for humans to eat meat? I mean that form a biological perspective (whether it is healthy for us or not; are we truly omnivorous animals?) and from a moral perspective (are we humans evil animals for eating other species?).
