Good rendition. I wasn't expecting the Wives to use the dark version. Something that always struck me about this song is how the ravens are the only ones in the story who are actually doing what they're supposed to, which makes them the most sympathetic characters (or morally 'correct', from a medieval standpoint) even though it seems like that shouldn't be the case because they're busy outraging the corpse of a fallen warrior.

I just love this song and rendition it's so Gothic and tragic. The tragedy of the song is how the Knight in the story is abandoned and forgotten by his hawk, hound, and beloved. The only ones there to visit him in his death are those who've come to scavenge his corpse.

The ending of the english version '3 ravens' is (relatively) more optimistic : the dog and the hawk keep guarding his corpse, his girlfriend (coming in the shape of a pregnant doe) dies at his side....

@@pierrealbanes2809 there are also versions where the lady actually comes to retrieve the corpse and buries it, dying soon after, still rather grim, and it deprives our heroes of their snack.

I just love these darker stories like this one, Curse Of The Somer and Bay Of Biscay. An no i am not a dark personality. I just like to find the light in darkness. :)

MWOW version downplays the mordant Border humor and plays up the tragedy of the song event. Quite a different take and emphasis... The chosen characters really work on the anime level too. ;)

+xXKORBYX I can feel the butthurt from over here. What is wrong with you? I insult a trite character from a trite anime made up of filler and your response is to wish that I get my eyes pecked out by crows? You seem to be pretty bloody unstable. Then again, that is a defining trait of weeaboos.

A true and sad song about the part of life in which we are most afraid of and yet stills fascinates us ever more deeply....death. That ever present raven in which is waiting for our time to come and to take us away to the great beyond.

@TheWingsOfTheFallen If you would like to see the lyrics for this song, you can find them on wikipedia. You can google "Twa Corbies." or "Three Ravens." I hope that this works for you.

For those wondering, this song is in an older form of English, one with very different pronunciation. As the song refers to a 'new slain knight' it is most likely some form of pre-Shakespearean era verbiage. I love the accuracy of not changing the pronunciation, so as to stay true to the original rhyme schemes.
@jacobbissey93113 жыл бұрын
It's scots dialect, so more of an offshoot of older english, although both the english "three ravens" and the scottish "twa corbies" are pre-billy shakes afaik

i agree. The maid should at least wonder where he is and weep for him for a time and the dog don't seem to lojal to it's master. His hawks I really dpn't know how they shpuld have doen. but the ravens do just what ravens do. They eat the dead.

Love the song, haunting and sad. I can forgive the animals for leaving, they're dumb animals, but the woman not so much. That just from the lyrics and the picture just makes the whole situation more sad. I do not like this Sakura here. Though considering the Bull the Sharingan can do now I wouldn't be surprised if she was mindf***d. Great clip man and keep it up!
