It's super important to note, that you saying the animation quality stayed consistent throughout is why the team on this anime deserves ALLLLL the props. They actually ran out of budgeting before Episode 27. But they decided to push back the production, until they could get the budgeting to do the grandstand finale we ended up getting. That being said, the two movies are basically them going back with the money they got with the anime, and touching up with some stellar scenes added. PRIMARILY, in the finale. @Tahj Pollock that reasoning could be aplied to everyone who diednin the final battle. Nia was a spiralmlifeform seeded with code from the anti sprials that highjacked her she wasnt just code the fact she faded was an asspull way to ring a bit more emotion from the last battle.
@vonfaustien39574 жыл бұрын
@Tahj Pollock ive seen it and i know whatnit said but whats said doesn't make sense given earlier ita started that the antispiral program had only overwritten her and not that she was solely antispiral code. One of the things I've pointed out to myself after rewatching Gurren Lagann is why would they use CGI, though so far they've been doing great with their animation. From the very first moment the antispirals appear on screen they stand out so much, you know that they are alien. An IMO there isn't a better way to introduce something so inorganic and unalive in this otherwise chaotic, but organic world.

I loved TTGL for its realism of grief and depression. Grief for loosing Kamina, showing us slowly the 5 phases and letting us know its ok to not be ok and take time to heal from trauma. Showing you one of many ways you can fight and shout back at the monsters inside you without substance abuse/self harm. Spiral power being will/determination/drive/self-esteem/whatever and Anti-Spirals being intrusive thoughts "Its not good enough", "Im not special" (they LITERALLY say it to Nia), "you cant do that/anything". This is my go-to "I need a smile" show.

One of my favorit thing about the end is a lesson with that. It saved me too from ongoing existential angst and dredd and got me invested in living to the fullest once again. I have so much love for this story, the creaters and all my fellow diggers forging their way forward in life and laughing in the face of impossible odds! The pure energy of the Anti-Spiral's attack takes Tengan Toppa Gurren Lagann and houses it inside of a Simon shaped Spiral energy house called Super Tengan Toppa Gurren Lagann. Then when they do the Russian nesting doll scene, Simon straight up destroys all but Gurren Lagann, meaning it's only his Spiral power against the Anti-Spiral. Simon breaks through with Gurren Lagann, only for Gurren to be torn apart. Even Lagann takes a few hits before launching Simon directly at the Anti-Spiral's main body. And a silent fist fight between Simon and the Anti-Spiral occurs.

You really did my man LordGenome dirty. He's piloting a two person mech, by himself, without using his freaking hands at all and wrecking the shit out his opponents mech. After his opponent finally got the upper hand he just casually proceeded to wrack open the cockpit of his own giant mech, exclaiming that you should never let a mech do your job and just walks down his mech to pummel the mech of his opponent into submission with his own freaking bare hands. And don't forget he produced literal flames as hair on his bald ass head. Instead you just skipped the entire fight and gave a win to the music.

Thanks so much for posting the second half, greatly enjoyed watching your reactions! You responded to a post of mine in the first half about the 2nd one coming. After seeing this I feel you have a very good understanding why I said it was my favorite anime ever; from the sheer quality of story-building, character development and beautiful animation, this anime is an absolute diamond of a gem to me

I have watched this anime over and over through out the years and every time I do, I still think it is one of, if not, the best anime ever and this video just proved it for me. Good job.

From what I can tell, Gurren Lagann is voiced amazingly in Japanese, English and German. Also, groing through all those deaths and sacrifices again was not easier the second time around...

What really got me was the last scene in the anime when they show both Kamina's and Nia's graves with all the flowers.

One thing that I think really sells Lordgenome is how he threw down with Lagann ON HIS OWN. He just. Without his own broken mech fought Lagann on even terms and that to me is an amazing finale to the beastman war.

Hey, I found your channel not that long ago and its been an amazing way to grow fond of these different shows and worlds that I hadn't seen in such a long time, so Thanks for that, on that note, I'm not even sure if you'd do a movie but I'd love to see an anime wins of Bunny Girl Senpai's movie, maybe split into a few different parts, although I do recognise that winning an entire movie would take a lot of time and well, effort, even if you don't, Love the channel, keep doing what your doing.

I just wanted to note something that you said at 38:06 about it being the same scene as the one in episode 1 and while i think it's a call back, there's a theory that I subscribe to that states the man in the first episode is not in fact Simon, evidence? well theres just one main thing.. when the man in the first episode walks we can hear a jangling sound that has only ever been heard from one character.. Kamina's father. So the theory is that one of the companions and quite possibly leader of the team that the Spiral King was from was in fact led by Kamina's father who once controlled the Gurren and that history is somehow repeating itself in hopes of getting a better ending.

Aw, no win for Lordgenome revealing he uses a 15 meter mech as a way to hold back in combat?

Man it's been so, so many years since I first saw gurren lagann. I personally don't like replaying story driven games, and rewatching anime/movies/series, all for the same reason. Once you know the story, the reason to watch it is gone. Although, this video just made all those memories rush back, getting me all emotional. I had forgotten just how great this anime is. I really should rewatch it someday.

Nia gritting her teeth and pointing the ring at the Anti-Spiral. Gets me every time. Also, the movie version of the final battle is incredible.
