@@grubbyboi7003 Unfortunately, you're wrong xD He was very much ready and willing to do THINGS to Fitz. But just like any straight man who gets curious, he would still question such feelings and check just in case. He knew in his heart that he loved fitz whether he was a boy or girl, but it didn't hurt to at least make sure. He's in a different world, so the term for fem-boy wouldn't really be known and he's still not 100% sure if male elves are as feminine as female elves. That's why he was adamant about figuring out Fitz's gender because his feelings were real, so to Rudy, finding out Fitz's true gender was important so it would solidify them. Please don't assume that "his body remembered" just because you might be uncomfortable with the idea of Rudy accepting his bi-curiousness. Rudy would have most definitely kept going after Fitz even if he ended up being a guy. He confirmed it in the anime and it's double confirmed in the LN and triple confirmed in the manga. There's no sugar-coating here x) Rudy was fully prepared to become Bi for Fitz.

I still read it from time to time till this day :p Vol. 9 Ch. 8 "...Whenever I did see him, my eyes always seemed to follow him. I recognized what all these symptoms meant, of course. I was in love. I’d fallen for a guy. Assuming he really was one, which I wasn’t totally convinced of. This seemed like an important question. Depending on his gender, ***I’d have to come to terms with the fact that I was gay, or possibly bisexual.*** Not that it really mattered in the short term, given that my “condition” still hadn’t improved. I was still kind of hoping he turned out to be a girl, though. Once I finally managed to admit my feelings to myself, I set out to gather some information on this subject..." Basically, love is love. I was honestly surprised how easily the “ignored by fitz” incident passed. I’m so used to every little misunderstanding and secret becoming a whole arc that I was surprised Rudy even believed Fitz. I was thinking Rudy’s been uncharacteristically docile lately, but then you mentioned how he was thinking if everything he wanted to do with Fitz. Yup, that’s our boy. These videos are great and I always look forward to them. Thanks for saving people from having to read the entire series from the beginning for those small details.

Surprisingly aninews didnt mention it, but what happened in the novel is that rudeus was actually shocked and worried of why fitz ignored him and as he was thinking about it he just headed straight into the library and meeting sylphy there. Upon seeing her he realizes that the fitz he met wasnt her since he had gone straight into the library from their meet up and even took shortcuts there was no way for fitz to get there before him. So basically it could had been the whole "misunderstanding arc" had he not just run into the real sylphy almost inmediately making it plain obvious what had happened.

He had already figured out, or more assumed i guess, that the Fitz that ignored him was the princess disguised. No one would ever confirm that, so he pretty much defaulted to that and moved on. I was more surprised how casually she took it and explained it away when he asked her about it in the library afterwards.

@@Link10103 That happened for 2 reasons. First, Sylphie already had a speech prepared in case anyone would ask or question why she acted differently when Ariel was disguised as Fitz. Second, Rudy kinda figured it out himself when he heard Fitz spew out his reasoning in a practiced, monotoned voice. And since Rudy has more wisdom for his age, he simply decided not to make a big fuss over it. Great maturity and growth from both parties :)

This is also around when rudeus is really growing up properly. Everything he goes through kinda STICKS with him, as every major issue in his past life will have a match in his new life that helps him understand and overcome his past mistakes. Meeting with his father and fixing that whole misunderstanding made it so that he is better at looking at someone else's side and forgiving them.

I'm glad SOMEONE is willing to talk about battle aura because the scene with Badigadi was its first formal mention even in the novels. The only thing readers had to go off of before that was in Volume 1 with Rudeus' abstract musing of how some advanced sword masters could reach a top speed of about 40 mph. Edit: Badigadi also mentioned that just as everyone could cast magic by saying the right incantation and possessing enough mana, technically, everyone could use battle aura as well. Rudy just really sucked at it.

The way Summoning works to summon someone from another world always sounded a lot like trying to open a Wormhole with the Mana being the energy needed. However some of the issues with wormholes is the paradoxes they could cause one either end. One theorized is that if the exit of the wormhole became unstable, it would swing wildly through both space and time. Which could explain Nanhoshi, and even the mass teleport incident. When the wormhole opened to deposit Nanahoshi, in a kinda mana backwash it sucked everyone in the region up. No longer having enough mana to maintain it the people essentially 'fell' out of the wormhole, showing up at random places around the world.

When you think of an unstable wormhole exit wildly swinging through both space and time and consider that mass teleport incident being a result of Nanahoshi summoning. Until you then consider whether to take another step back and consider both Nanahoshi and Rudeus summoning both being backwash to another even larger event.

I loved the different stages of Rudeus finding out Fitz's gender, from denying his feelings, question his sexuality, negotiating for information, to acceptance. And he gets bonus points for recognising Fitz wants to keep his gender a secrets and Rudeus respects that decision

Ironically, though, his respecting that decision just frustrate Sylphy more if she doesn't understand the reasoning behind it, as in "ok, he knows I'm a girl now...why is he *still* just treating me as a friend?". Fortunately, I don't think those issues are going to remain for much longer.

Battle aura is kinda like ki from dbz. Thats why swordsmen in this world are so op. Its why paul was able to cut a rock in half in the second episode with a wooden sword. Its why eris , after being punched into a rock face by orsted and indenting the stone, was relatively ok. They basically use mana to buff thier bodies. They dont just 'train hard', but they are actively useing mana.

I just wanna say that because of this channel, I've picked up the light novel. Even though I don't read often, it was really easy to get into. I've read the manga as well. Which definitely leaves a lot out. My favorite part recently is the Eris update we got. Which was very nice to see since it's been so long since we heard about her.

Thanks, so main points I got from this: - The demon that battled with Rudeus actually companioned with him most of the time he trained with the sword. Occasionally he'd make conversation like we saw in the anime but he'd nod most of the time, as if approving his swaves with the sword. - Rudeus is trying to figure out "Battle aura" over the span of a year when he's been there, like Eris did with the giant snake, but for some reason he can't do it - Rudeus has enough magic output to be able to do all the magic circles he's requested to test, "Fitts" wouldn't be able to do all of them as the mana output is linked to Advanced magic. - The amount of mana of Rudeus is also more than his body can handle, hence he basically can't use all his potential, or his body would literally fall apart ("like Deku from My Hero Academia" - one for all at 100%). - Rudeus tries to bribe the president/head teacher for Fitt's real gender with seeing if firing a stone/rock at him would make him change his mind, but it still doesn't trigger him to say anything. He also requests his magic "rank" earlier on (not on the same day but in the distant past of joining the academy) but sees no merit in calling himself a higher rank, as it brings himself no good/perks. Am excited to see the reaction of Fitts and Rudeus, guess we'll see on Sunday this week. Love hyping myself up for this, thanks for doing this every week, really appreciate seeing the extras.

Battle Aura sounds more like Nen than anything else. I wonder if Rudy could just use something like enhancing or maybe metal manipulation to create armor around himself, that would at least provide some defense. Rudeus growth as a magician actually stalled since no matter what he do he doesn't see any progress, and he doesn't see any point working hard further. But in real-life combat, living magicians that could give Rudy a really hard time could be counted with two hands. And on his peak he is probably the strongest magician from human race in the entire history of MT.

The battle aura sounds like he controls healing spells outside the body so that the body doesn't destroy itself when it goes beyond the limits of human endurance and at the same time potentiates the development of new cells, which would explain the immortality of seriously strong people.

Also, most spells up to the Saint level are High Radius spells, that in the wrong hands, could cause a ton of fatalities, that's why most of them are protected by nations or organizations. You would have to build a level of trust before receiving the incantation from them.

Yes, but no there is a hard cap on the amount of mana any human can have, rudy technically exceeds that limit. When one is born with such mana the overwhelming amount of mana causes the destruction of the soul. Rudy was never suppose to be born, the child was destined to die a miscarriage until Rudy's soul teleported to the world and ended up inside of the child's body. In theory they would be strong, but not the strongest, even if they where able to exist. This is a world full of gods and other creators, some species have a much higher tolerance for mana.

So, I'm not shocked you're missing this. While I can watch this anime and surmise conclusions, I see in the comments that others are mislead or have misinterpreted the anime. You're doing an excellent job, Sir. So check this out. His battle aura or lack of it, is likely a symptom of his ED. Or perhaps, vice-versa. 😢😮🙂 Mana and Chi or Ki are often connected to each other and also connected to male potency or prowess. I have a theory why rudeous's battle aura doesn't work, I think its because instead of feeling mana like most other mages rudeous conciously imagines the product and the theory making something that is fundimentally non-imagineable impossiblely difficult

Which would explain why training was one of ways, at some point you combine physical and magic in one thing. I do think Rudy's willingness to just abandon the concept of battle aura is a little weird. However one of his fundamental character traits (in the novels at least) is his insistence of being over-humble. He gives up really easily when he encounters a roadblock that seems related to personal ability. He's more of a 'work around' type than a 'work through' type. I won't spoil what he eventually does instead of battle aura, but until that happens I would have thought he'd be more interested in trying to figure out battle aura.

The reason Rudeus can't use battle aura, SPOILERS!!!!!!! The reason Rudeus can't use battle aura is because he has the Laplace factor, Laplace at one point was split into two separate beings, Technique God Laplace and Demon God Laplace. Technique God Laplace has access to battle aura but not magic and vice versa for Demon God Laplace. Rudeus was born with the factor of Demon God Laplace, hence why he has large amounts of mana but can't use battle aura.
