season 3 is going to be the "retcon and flashback from hell" arc. Because the animaters cut so much critical content from season 1. they skiped through FOUR whole novels to make season one, and one of the arcs they cut out that plays a HUGE part of the next chapter right after this season is the Verbgarden arc. the kingdom of the beastmen.......... Lets just say bad things happen and Hajimes Trained force of Monty Python Rabits play a huge role in the next 2 books! and so much was cut out that things WILL NOT make any sence with out flashbacks and retcons!

Hajime not killing those who dared to harm or even threaten those he cared about was stated pretty clearly when Kaori was possessed by the spirit in the ship graveyard and Hajime told it outright he would do everything he could to ensure he didn't kill it; that he would deny it the release it was going to crave just for the audacity of targeting someone close to him. So him not killing Eri immediately means he very likely was planning to torture her then and there, and him pulling his punches against Hiyama meant he wanted to prolong his suffering.

Hell, he gives Myu a whole ass megazord (daddy spoiling his little princess)) are some of the manias that will follow I wonder if they will do a arc for the epilogue (that has about 8-9 episodes worth of content) He doesn't even spare a 7 year old (liliana's younger brother) from the pain, shooting sugar cubes on him till he got concussed/depressed by the gulf in power (the premise of why a 7 yr old thought it would be a good idea to charge at hajime is that the little boy has a crush on kaori, but kaori straight up brozones him and he gets angy at hajime. He starts cussing at hajime, and then the whole sugar cube shooting happens). I don't know why the anime skipped this thing out

Besides the reunion and the introduction of Remia, Myu's mother, this episode was the one I was waiting on. Hajime is not a revenge mission he is on a one to find a way home he just gets revenge as added bonus. Hajime warn Hiyama to stay out of his way and in the LN it shows way more of how he bullied Hajime for getting Kaori's attention before Hajime gained power in the castle and the school. This scene was worth watching it and hoped it animated the monsters ripping Hiyama apart.

I know AniNews has it out against this series but I love it so much! Arifureta delivers in its MC Hajime Nagumo. Rather than trying to do good like Kouki, he actually does what is necessary, and in doing so, is much better than those who are "try to do good." Despite what AniNews and the world might tell you, evil must be destroyed even if the means are horrible. The true heroes are not those who keep their hands clean but those who actually get things done. I will always love Arifureta for that no matter what other clowns say!
@D1i1s12 жыл бұрын
Well the problem with Kouki isn't that he is trying to do good, if that was all there wouldn't be much of a problem, but that he is constantly interpreting everything the way it's most convenient for him and is 1000000% convinced that his opinion is the absolute incarnation of justice, that he is always right and simply can't do any wrong. There is a place for more Ideal heroes e.g. like those in MHA, Heroes that aren't as ruthless and inhumane as Hajime. Hell Hajime himself slowly develops a bit towards being more human through out the novels (not that he stops being ruthless, don't worry, but he regains some small measure of humanity through his relationships with those he cares for) but Kouki simply isn't one. He is not some Ideal hero but a self-righteous, self-centred prick that had the Hero role simply handed to him, instead of having to work for it or proving himself to be one.

the brutality in this arc is what I would consider the highlight, having read the LN, the anime was good but I say they could've made more emphasis to it. Hajime's "calm" anger here wasn't really fully utilized since it felt like they held back on how brutal he can be to anyone he sees as his enemy. Unlike your average main character, he can't be stopped with words alone, it's his idgaf personality that makes him interesting. basically, it's just an example of having done too good of a job that a little more push would've made it perfect. example of this is how he held back his attacks enough to maximize the damage dealt but at the same time not let Hiyama lose consciousness and by the way, that fire attack (supposed to be a pale white flame) is also a callback on how it was the same attack Hiyama used that caused Hajime to fall in the labyrinth.

One other deviation worth mentioning is Fried's failed attempt to kill and intimidate Hajime. In the LN, Hajime redirects an injured Fried's surprise attack sending part of the beam towards Kouki causing Eri to move him out of the line of fire. Hajime also shoots at Fried when the latter tries to coerce him in to giving him the location of the labyrinth hidden in the Divine Mountain. This causes an enraged Fried to insult Hajime and threaten him further with his army of monsters. Hajime shoots at Fried again, or rather at his monsters projectiles, as he powers up the Hyperion. And when the Hyperion fires it is fired in the plains outside the capital where the bulk of Fried's monsters and fellow demons are waiting. The beam then quickly zig zags across the plains annihilating most of the demon army. Fried then orders a retreat when leaving the captial after vowing to kill Hajime with his own hands. In the anime, Fried's beam is just nullified, his chest injury is healed, he isn't shot at, and monsters roaming outside of the courtyard are destroyed. I prefer how the light novel depicts this series of events as it shows just how woefully underpowered the demon general and self proclaimed apostle is compared to Hajime. I think it would have been better to have the students being lured to the courtyard and Eri's subsequent betrayal along with Kaiori's death in one episode followed by Hajime's counterattack in another episode. Doing so would better convey the terror that is an enraged Hajime.

Well the magic from the labyrinths is meant to be OP so no problem with that;) (Love those Isekai where you see why someone is OP or the charcter has like one thing where they are really good at but has someform of flaw -distasteful look at SAO- like this show, that time I got reincarnated as a slime, Overlord, too an extend, or Log Horizon.

hajime's Classmates is equivalent to Shun and Co., weak, not very interesting and relies on powerful people to win a fight. i was internally screaming "BRUH! Where tf is Hajime?????" during the backstabbing scene in episode 11 The one i hated the most in the series is Kouki, he had the audacity to tell hajime what he wants to do with Hajime's power. Hajime is pretty much correct on his own ideals, He obviously doesn't want to exert some of his mana on people he doesn't know and doesn't care are, All he NEEDS to do is protect those closest to him and people he KNOWS. Hajime doesn't have the priorities as kouki, Kouki really became a massive scumbag. Hajime doesn't have the status of a respected person in the kingdom, He is even hated just because he is overpowered, Hajime wasn't given his powers on a silver platter, He EARNED it, What he does with it DEPENDS on what he WANTS to do, no one can tell him what his duties should be, especially someone like Kouki.

I feel so sorry for Suzu. This broke her for quite a while. and that second meeting with Eri................ tear jerking man,................

to be fair, its not entirely kouki's fault either. the way he grew up twisted his morals about justice, and him not failing at anything just drove him deeper and deeper.

One thing i hate about this adaptation is that Hajime bloodlust is only used for gags and isn't portrayed correctly, he constantly uses this. Like in this part, the moment Hajime arrived. The literal air became cold to his bloodlust and almost as if time stopped. His bloodlust was suffocating everyone.

I guess you could say that this episode was Season 1 leaking through. Hajime showed his classic "I got no time for you for I'll just kill you right here." to everyone else working for the people who decided to put people he LEGITIMATELY CARED FOR in pain. Sparing them from the suffering that their master's would get for doing exactly that. Also, just that bit of humanity and compassion to at least avenge that someone he cared for. Gotta love Arifureta.

Arifureta is a great anime to watch! This episode made it even better. Sure, the anime leaves out a lot of info from the Light Novels, but there's only so much you can put in a half-hour. Hiyama's death was very satisfying, and was described in the LN with more detail. It was mentioned his body was found mostly eaten by the monsters. I really like your cut content videos, so keep making them. Also, could you do a video of some current LNs that don't have an anime adaptation, but could. There's some I could recommend.

@8:18, Indeed. After seeing that Kaori was murdered by Hiyama Daisuke, Hajime went into a silent Berserker rage and unleashed his true power. Hell-bent on ripping apart those who were responsible and quickly saving & resurrecting Kaori with the Age of God's Ancient Magic, "Soul Magic" that he, Aiko Sensei, and Tio had acquired on the Divine Mountain after his battle with Noint.
