Minneapolis, Minnesota, USA - 1998 World Figure Skating Championships, Ice Dancing, Original Dance ("The Jive") - Marina Anissina and Gwendal Peizerat of France placed 2nd in the Original Dance and remained in 2nd Place going into the Free Dance.

More than any couple I've ever watched Marina and Gwendal look like they are actually dancing on the ice, not just doing fancy tricks. I "discovered" them a month or two ago and have really enjoyed and been impressed by them.

I agree. This was much better than at the Olympics. I thought their composition marks should have been higher because their steps and hand holds throughout were so complex and intricate.

Милая девочка,что же ты маму не послушала,если хотела детей можно было найти даже простого работягу,но имей ввиду,солнышко,по Лазареву,дети рождённые от такого как Джигурда,будут когда вырастут тебе чужими по духу,а это тяжелейшее испытание и тебя ждёт много разочарований под старость,даже раньше,и сделать будет ничего нельзя, только молча терпеть,поверь,я знаю,что говорю,выдержишь терпением,а ты это можешь солнышко,твой девиз "надо терпеть" я тоже твержу,тебе будет награда ввиде внуков,надеюсь дети обойдут стороной таких как Джигурда

They would have deserved 1st even if G&P had been here (even though the judges would now be placing them 3rd). No team matched this OD performance all season or even close, including G&P. Yet not even a single judge placed them over K&O. It is hilarious they were potrayed as beneficiaries of corrupt judging this season, when it was just the opposite.

there is a recently uploaded video on youtube from this event (1998 World Figure Skating Championships Original Dance (canadian broadcast) , and there tracy wilson finally admitted that this dance was " head and shoulders above the rest" and that it was winning performance.
