Hey I'm new to this channel, I really appreciate how openly you admit about the cultural shock. I felt the same when I move to Miami on 2008. One thing I wanna add to the cultural shock is that" when we see people with pets (Dogs) going for walk and when the dog go popo how well they take that in a specific plastic bag and dispose then in a particular garbage cans. In the beginning when me and my frs thought,they are taking them for using as a fertilizers for their gardens, but later we understand it's for disposal and keeping the Streets clean." The other thing you mentioned that you don't know why the restaurant employee want us to seat in a particular seat is that " Most restaurant is arranged in such a way- 2 , 4 , 6 seater and some of them are reserved , so they don't want to sit in a spot and make you move out of that seat. Other problem is some of theach seats are not in service which means in a restaurant each table is divided to certain servers to watch, so that they can concentrate on those seats and give the best customer satisfaction, On weekdays not all servers are needed so the seat your siting may not allocated to any staff, but if you ask you need a bigger seat they won't say NO to a customer again for customer satisfaction ." Also you know how organized America's are which also play a part on seating the customers. Most restaurant serve warm water if you ask, they have kettle to make coffee. I think I answered your doubt. You could make a video about How some of the words we use in India is different from USA like Hotel vs restaurant. Hot vs warm, Hot vs spicy, Lack vs 100 thousand or 10 lack vs 1 millions. One more suggestions is how 4 seasons make USA more beautiful, the difference in style of cloth they choose in winter(white or black) vs summer(more colourfull) or spring(flowery floral dress) vs fall (Grey dull colour), how that affect nature and food habits. Reason for not serving hot water is for safety. Safety and waiters while they serve and customers while they are in the restaurant. If anything happens, customers will sue the restaurant. So, to avoid that they simply don't serve hot water.

Don’t think Americans have a habit of drinking hot water. Even other Indians don’t have that habit like mallus.

Nah if they wouldn’t serve hot water for that reason, then no restaurant will serve any hot drink. It just that most Americans think it’s weird to drink plain hot water. I’m a weird American and do ask for it, and most places will give it if I ask, especially when I say, “I have a weird request.... could I have some plain hot water?”

One more thought.. if it’s more like a fast food restaurant, then the likelihood of hot or even room temperature water is low to non existent. My comment before was in reference to diners and other restaurants where you sit down and they serve you.

The biggest issue for me in America was the fact that ablution was with toilet tissue only and that was simply not acceptable.. A combination of toilet tissue and water is the perfect hygiene.
