Are your ankles collapsing inwards? Do you have problem to maintain balance while single leg movements?
Ankle Valgus is quite common condition among less active and/or overweight people regardless of the age.
If ignored and not addressed and corrected properly early enough it can convert into more serious issue imposing risk on the knees, hips or spine.
This short video clip presents simple valgus correction exercise you can add to improve the correct alignment and functionality of the ankles.

This exercise is the first step to fixing your valgus. Following this activation there should be exercises to strengthen the other stabilizing muscles of the leg.

My left feet ankle is like this since last 2 months. Will it work mean will my left ankle turn into how it was before.

Thank you for your comment. I am almost sure it didn't turn like this on its own within last 2 months. Something must have happened. Either you had some injury or you have changed footwear or maybe your habit. The best to verify what caused and if it return to your previous state would be to consult a physician. If it is a result of an injury and it is a due to a soft tissue trauma, you should be able to rebuild your foot to the previous form.

My 10yr old son have this problem which is worrying for me He used to sit in a wired position while playing video games and resulted in out of shape left ankle Please tell me if these exercises will work?

Hi Zarrar Khan, Thank you for your comment. First of all the for the accurate diagnosis of a medical condition, it would be wise to seek the physician's opinion since the conditions may vary from person to person. There are some cases of the severe flat foot which are genetically determined. Most, however, are a result of underdevelopment of the foot structure due to insufficient activity level, obesity, or an injury. What helps children to develop is physical activity and regular exercises. Running, playing outdoor, jumping, etc, challenge the skeleton structure and promotes growth and correct development. Too much time spent playing video games would more likely result in underdevelopment rather than the position he used to sit in. The exercises I suggest in this clip are only to restore the function and awareness in order to perform actual corrective and strength exercises to help to strengthen the foot muscles. So answering your question: yes it can help but it is only a tip of the much larger system of correcting his leg's functionality. Hi my 8 year old daughter have same problem in right leg first I was not notesin it from few weeks I'm notesin it an I use to give her were veg heels to the function is it problem by heels frm small age and I'm worried about it if she do the excuses which u have shown in the video it will be slowly be fine plz plz reply sir

Hi Syed, Thank you for your comment. 8 year old kids are still growing and their body structure is still changing. However, due to these changes, it is especially important that kids are receiving enough of the physical activities to allow the bodies to develop properly. Lack of movements, especially running, jumping and playing barefoot, can weaken the muscles and prevent feet from building strong and functional legs. This may over time transfer into a serious problem with flat foot, causing pain in knees and even hips. This also sometime is the problem for overweight kids. If you think your daughter is developing the conditions as on the video, it may require some corrective exercises for her to follow in order to strengthen the feet. The wedges inserts to the shoes are not really a problem solving solutions as they don't do anything to build stronger muscles. It does help a little with improving the habit and holding the feet in a correct position, but once shoes are being taken off, feet will still collapse in to a valgus. What I could propose to you, now would be: either to check with your local orthopedic physician, or connect with me privately to work on an online corrective exercise solution for her. Hi, thank you for your question. This is only one exercise aiming to activate the muscles of one movement. For the complete ankle sprain rehab, you would need more movements.

@@saheer28ind The rehab exercises will depend on the type and the grade of the damage. You have very little impact on the shape of the ankle. It might be swollen, the structure might be altered.
