try this with arm movement exercises while in posture, slowly raising arms at your sides, and then raising a hand as high as you can while your other is on your chest/alternating. You will feel it! This posture exercise you show is great and I'm going to implement it into my routine, normally would do the same but without leaning off the wall, and then do my arm movements. I find the movements add another depth into the muscle coordination and posture repair.

Magnificent, I'm astounded, I also added to that wall posture (3:19) yogic breathing with pushing your diaphragm down while expanding the belly ...and suddenly I intuitively know this will be of a great help with my depression, yes I believe a bad posture could've lead to biochemical changes in brain functioning.

I think it has to do with improper balance in terms of relaxed muscles and stressed muscles, such that a bad posture can cause you to feel powerless and weak. I assume such for the same reason that if you sit too far back you'll be prone to grow tired and even fall asleep, whereas if you sit up properly you'll only grow more and more alert as you sit.

gigi1114 ; that’s where I got confused as well ... got pain trying to push everything against the wall... but it looks like from watching the vid again that the young guy doesn’t do that .. and he is under the instruction so it seems that it doesn’t matter to do that .
@carlacoon856 Жыл бұрын
I wish Brendon would answer this question. I too cannot get my head to touch the wall unless it’s looking straight up, which he said was wrong. If I take a step away from wall, I can do it with pain. I also have no idea at that point if my back and shoulders are aligned right. I’m going to have someone observe to help me because I can’t see it.

When you thought you've tried everything. I almost lost hope and thought I'll be suffering from neck, should and back pain for the rest of my life. I'm glad I found your video 😭😭 Painting with a bad posture and inactivity due to covid caused me pain. Just yesterday I tried this and I was able to go to bed without neck pain and today no neck pain as well but I still did a quick stretching. Thank you so much! I'll keep doing this everyday or every other day. I hope more people who needs you will find this video. Thanks a lot!

This is great! How many times per day would you recommend to do this exercise to correct my posture. I've been working as a graphic designer for over 10+ years so now my posture is really bad. Also do you have other exercises & stretches to correct the lower curvature of the back and pelvis tilt (caused by sitting down too much). Thanks!

Help! I think I'm doing this wrong because I've been doing this for 5 minutes. A month passed already and my neck is still fucked up. I don't get it.
@BrendonBradleyDC8 жыл бұрын
Justin Palabay There is a concept in natural healing about time needed to heal. For every year you've had any condition or disease, it takes one month to heal or correct it. So, if you've had poor posture for 10 years, you'll need at a minimum of 10 months of consistent correction. Another example, braces for crooked teeth. The average time needed to straighten teeth is two years and then years of support through the application of a retainer. Be patient and keep working on correction.

Yeah, I did this, and it barely helped as well. I found that I finally got to fix this when i started focusing on making my sternum feel great, so pushing out my chest. Thats all i focus on, and it seems to fix my hunchback and my forward head tilt, and also, my tight psoas muscle(that makes my low back ache), and so much more...

as someone with tight suboccipital muscles i will testify that pulling in your chin will cause pain and spasming. at least for some. after doing two rounds of pt of exercises like this video and having no results I've found that correcting rib cage position is much better than trying to force tight muscles into this position. if you do proper core exercise, rows, squats and focus more on your chest position your head and neck will fall into place naturally.
@carlacoon856 Жыл бұрын

Personally, I adore this “doso shocking guide” posture treatment that you can also lookup on Google. I have always had bad posture but ever since a colleague told me that I slouched, I want to to treat it instantly. Making use of this material, my muscles are being targeted for fixing my posture. Even with only the first day, the final results can be seen.

Thanks for this! I had been doing something similar using light resistance bands, but using a wall and bodyweight is so much simpler. It can be done anywhere at any time. One question though: is it normal for this exercise to cause pins and needles down the arms and into the hands? Is that a sign that it's "working" or am I overdoing something?
@BrendonBradleyDC9 жыл бұрын
ElSeñorHayden It is not normal, but does happen with some patients. the tingling is indicative of pressure on the nerves exiting your lower cervical spine. The exercise should not only help correct forward head posture but the tingling as well. However, if the tingling continues I would seek out a chiropractor to help correct any misalignments of the vertebrae. Thanks for watching.

this is a great vid thank you. I feel it in my spine under my shoulder blades. you guys should also keep your heels, head, shoulder blades, and elbows on the wall. keep elbows bent at 90° and shoulder press the air. maintain contact of all times. I feel a good stretch of the shoulder girdle doing this.
@smartcatcollarproject56998 жыл бұрын
Also watch out for wrong tongue position. The tongue should be up against the palate, if not, all your upper muscle structure is broken. Search youtube for more details, it's also important against crooked teeth, for correct breathing, training, and more.

what if im doing beatbox and im using mostly my right side? can mouth imbalance (tongue+lips) change your spine?
@smartcatcollarproject56997 жыл бұрын
@noname It's never too late to correct a bad attitude., Dr Mew on youtube explains that you can see changes at all age, so 20 is still young. If you don't have nasal constriction and can breathe easily through your nose, consider yourself lucky ! @Banana could be... or is it the opposite ? maybe you are using the right side because the spine is slightly bend, because of a foot or hip issue or position ? apparently short time activities, like eating, have less influence than lighter but more frequent factors, like tongue position while swallowing or at rest. But maybe do some exercises with the other side, too, maybe chewing gum ?

@stevengregory39917 жыл бұрын
Nothing top secret could be understood with just a slightly above average IQ. You have to be at least 145, like me (170) in order to help yourself. That's what I did. I figured out everything Mew talks about and more by myself before I even became aware of him. But merely being in the presence of an intelligent human being is sadly not enough, so this doesn't help you much. Just start plaiying Runescape, Everquest or some equally fringe MMO that doesn't require interacting with females face to face. You can be the alpha male of your own TeamSpeak server.

Thanks very much for posting this! I've had a sporadic pain in my neck/back about once a year for the past ~10 or so years. I always figured it was somehow weather-related because it always happened early in the spring, but since moving to a new country, it's been happening with concerning regularity. Whether weather-related or not, I had to find something to help. The other videos on the site weren't really helping, but this goofy exercise has killed the pain instantaneously.
