Great lookin cooker. I love to build these things. I like to watch other builders such as yourself to get little tips and tricks. I'm building one now that's 3/8" and holy crap is this thing heavy. I probably won't have any blowouts, though. Great video, my friend. Keep building, and I'll keep watching.

@@4seasonsbbq I appreciate it! My next build is 3/8” thick as well. A trailer rig. Will be interesting for sure. Good luck on your build!

I’ve seen Allen form Allens welding / woodworking do doors like that. I’ve cut the opening out on the end of the chamber where the fire box is going to go and slid in, welded some straps in where the door is going to be, if you make some of the cuts and shine a light on the outside of the chamber you can see where the door will be, this really helps with the door springing when you make the final cuts but believe me it’s a very messy job with all the oil and grease that’s in there with it being a compressor tank, but well worth it in the end.

@@SD-rq2ob I’ll have to look back into Allen’s videos to see. I know he does octagon chambers that are similar but can’t remember a tank build. I did weld in some crappy braces on the inside of the door prior to cutting out but they were only small chunks of square tubing and not contoured to the inside radius at all. So only 6-points of contact. Rookie move on my part. You nailed it on the head with the messy job comment! Not fun. Thanks for the feedback!

Turned out real nice! I built a small charcoal bbq outta an air tank and yup, totally disgusting inside as well! haha

Great build. … where did you get the casters? How much weight do they hold?
@fabmakebuildcook627419 күн бұрын
@@MrMMcClean thanks. Got them on Amazon. Can’t remember exactly but they hold a lot. Just search on amazon for 6” swivel casters and they should pop up

Just picked up a similar tank and I'd like to build an offset like this. I'm curious, did the thin wall of the tank create challenges for longer smokes? Also, any changes you'd make if you were to build this one again?
@fabmakebuildcook6274Ай бұрын
@@travissmith5986 good luck on your build! No issues with the thin wall tank yet. Would for sure go thicker wall if possible just for ease of work and longevity. But, if using an old tank you kind of work with what you got. My friends are happy with it and that’s what matters most

ПОЧЕМУ ВТОРУЮ ПОЛКУ НЕ СДЕЛАЛ?

I rarely use a top shelf while cooking and the cook chamber is relatively short in height. not worth it in my opinion but I'm also bias towards no upper shelf :)
