I picked up one of those DeWalt core drills on Facebook Marketplace a few weeks back, cost me £5 as spares and repairs - bloke had only used it a handful of times, still looked brand new! Unfortunately the field had burnt out, so replaced it with a genuine one for about £50, works like a charm!

Nice job chap. The switch in the key cutter is a pressure/plunger microswitch (or some variation of that name). They're also used in devices that have refillable/removable liquid storage tanks - like commercial coffee machines. In those applications they're mounted in such a way that when the tank (or whatever) is full, its weight rests on the pin and engages the switch. As the tank empties, it's lifted by a spring mounted around the pin and when it needs refilling the tank is lifted clear of the pin - which cuts the power to the device. They also often have three poles which allow for the switch to be wired in always on or always off.

Nice fixes again and plenty of variety. Haven't had a key cutting machine come in with a faulty switch yet, the ones I did see had a faulty capacitor.

After seeing one of your shorts video showing your multimeter, I purchased a Venlab Multimeter. I already had several multimeters, but for the price, I decided to give it a try, I couldn't believe how great it is for the $12 i paid for it on Amazon.

Another thing to point out about compressors tripping, if it's one of the more powerful ones and you then run it on an extension lead you get a voltage drop and therefore a current increase, which trips it

The key cutter switch looks very much like the ones used in foot switches for sewing machines or guitar pedals. eBay sells momentary switches for around £1.50.

Hey Dean, what grease do you use? Any specific application or same grease for any gearbox etc?

Probably twenty cents worth of brass that thing crapped on your table. Too much aluminum and potmetal to bother separating it from.

What would be best to seal those armatures to keep them from corroding. Just thinking you could clean it up and then spray it with some lacquer or something.

Is there much performance difference between the Dch273 and the Dch033
@deandohertygreaser
@deandohertygreaser 5 күн бұрын
yes the dch033 is better
@shifty277
@shifty277 5 күн бұрын
The DCH033 is a monster for an 18v tool and especially with a 6.0 or 9.0ah flexvolt battery. I have seen these use a 5.5mm drill in 160mm length and 260mm length and hammer like butter. I'm assuming the hammering mechanism is more effecient from all the parts being straight in the tool as opposed to the drop motor style of the DCH273. Hope that helps. At under £150 bare tool it's a brilliant price

I've never seen a 16 finish nailer that can fire nails into concrete. As far as i know the one the did concrete nails was a whole different nailer? Guess theres more bostich nailers out there than i know, & different over there. I think thats the first pneumatic nailer I've seen on your bench. 👌🏻👍🏻🛠️🔧🔩🦺
