We hit up another salvage yard that has a ton of classic cars. Andersen's Self Service Wrecking in Kearney, NE. None of the cars here can be sold, only parts, so don't ask.

I really enjoyed the journey through that salvage yard with you guys. Seeing some of those oldies, brought back a lot of memories too. Thanks a bunch.

It's a shame they won't sell some of those vehicles as whole. Here in Kentucky, if you find something 50 yrs or older, you can get an antique title, just as long as you have a bill of sale, (proof of ownership) the VIN number is there, and hasn't been tampered with. Around here, people pull things from the creeks, woods, fields or anywhere else they can find em, and get em titled. Here in Paintsville Kentucky there's a "Gear Heads Club", you should see some of the stuff.

Every state's rules are different. Rules are also different going through a salvage yard. Salvage titles, etc. And, some salvage yards don't want the hassle or the blow back on untitled cars.

Thanks for letting people know the name and location of this salvage yard . I'll be making a good drive to several salvage yards looking for parts for old cars and trucks . Of course with the names and locations of different salvage yards , I'll call first . I want to say Thank You !!

Best self service salvage I have ever been in. Plenty of carts, aisles kept clean, and they even rent golf carts.

10:22... 61 to 65 are slab-side, 66 to 69 have the body line thus are not slab-side. That is how they are deciphered. Also 66 to 69 there WAS a hardtop, moreover it was a two door.

By instrument cluster, the Ranchero is a '69, a '68 would have black faced gauges. Also fender badges would indicate at least a 351, so would have a 9". The 2dr sdn Torino is a half year 70½ Falcon, dropped for '71. No '70-'71 Fairlanes or Torinos in a 2dr sedan body. Optioned with 429 is a very desirable vehicle.

11:10... the hole was cut to access the jammed-up latch so they could get the hood open.

The pair of Satellites are actually 65 Dodge Coronets. You can see the Coronet name outline on the front fenders of them. I like the pinched rear C pillar design on those old Coronets.
@RebeldryversGarage3 жыл бұрын
You are correct. The owner also had a 69 Coronet with these two in a field for years. The land was sold, and he was trying to sell all three. The 69 got sold, but no one wanted these and he ran out of time, so off to the salvage yard.

4:35... That is NOT a Torino, it is a 1970 1/2 Falcon as evidenced by the sedan "B" pillar.

The car at 12:39 is a 50 not a 53.The guy marking these cars must be just guessing.Could be a 49, I would have to see the tail light assembly.and trunk lid.

A pair of 41 Fords @ 49:24.

...wonder what's up with the "parts only"?...many of these cars, even after being stripped, are much better starting points than what's often available here, most don't look that rusty...and they are old enough that "no title" shouldn't be a problem?...shame to see the restoreable ones parted out...

A lot of the vehicles the salvage yard receives come from deceased owners. The estate goes into probate, no titles can be found as many have been off the road for decades. Instead of spending months trying to get a new bonded title, they sell them with what is known as an estate title. This makes them almost impossible to get new titles for the road in Nebraska. The salvage yard owners aren't interested in the hassle and time consumed to do so.

What is the wreck deposit on?
@michaelmoore86802 жыл бұрын
The only reason they don't sell autos is because they want to milk every vehicle they have for every penny they can get out of em. That's the whole point. If they wanted to flip em' they wouldn't have a yard full of em'. They'd flip em' as they bought em, before they had a chance to stack up.
