Another Michigan camp bike saved. It’s For Sale, along with a Candy Red CT70 K1.

Another one of the Michigan camp bikes has been partially saved. This time, it’s a Candy Yellow CT70 K1. This bike retains its original engine, but has had a few upgrades: new piston, rings, gaskets and electronic ignition. Due to all the Michigan bikes missing their seats and exhaust, this bike has a used seat, an aftermarket exhaust and aftermarket throttle. Bike runs, rides, stops and could certainly be left as is and used as a yard rider. Or, there is still plenty of work, if someone wanted a solid “fixer upper”. The Candy Yellow bike is $800, picked up at my shop. If you’d like both bikes, they are $2500, picked up at my shop.

In 1972 for Christmas I got a Honda CT 70 H Gold color. It was brand new . Boy , it took me forever to figure out the clutch. lol but in a couple of days I figured out. Lots of fun in the day . I was 12 years old at that time. I’m 64 years old and it feels like yesterday.😊

@@MiniBikeMike Have you done a video on replacing the timing cam chain? I’d love to see how you would do it, if it’s possible without having to remove the head and/or flywheel. And where you would suggest getting a replacement chain/kit - thanks in advance!

@@janly4 No, I haven’t made a video on that. Honestly, if an engine needs a timing chain, that’s a good excuse for me to throw a Lifan in it. To change the chain, you have to pull the head, the flywheel and the stator plate.

@@MiniBikeMikeThe original K1 sales brochure listed the colors as Candy Ruby Red and Special Yellow. The photo of the bike on the brochure looked more like a Mustard Yellow, closer to the 1979 color. I never thought the K1 “yellow” color was “special” at all. That said, I’m sure there were those who didn’t care what color it was as-long-as they had it to ride ! Still hard to beat the 6-color selection Honda offered on the K0s !!

Great job bringing it back. Question - Did you pick those up in Morley, MI? I saw there was quite a collection of those for sale there. I'm just north of Grand Rapids. I was considering going and picking up a couple to put together one good one.
