I can’t say enough how impressive it is to see someone perform the vast majority of the work smithing and NOT simply grinding pounds and pounds of material off at the belt.

@@mulisha0351 I've been watching Alec since he was at about 30k subs, and i do truely love his videos, but i miss seeing more raw forging. His engraving is very cool to see, but only 3 or 4 videos in a series actually include forging anymore
@mulisha03515 жыл бұрын
@@evansumpter855 yeah I noticed that as well. I really enjoy the raw forging and want more of it. I think him working with will is killing what made his channel unique now it's like your getting half content but I still enjoy it. Really miss his old workshop though.
@evansumpter8555 жыл бұрын
@@mulisha0351 i feel the same way. It was fun seeing alec try new things and learn new skills, and watching will do it instead kinda kills that. I still like will and his work, but i absolutely prefered the old workshop and channel

Why should he? He hasn't had the opportunity to perfect his design and can't guarantee the function of the item... even if the first and second user/ owner know what it is, before long it becomes a chunk of metal with his logo that may or may not represent the quality of his workmanship.

You should have finished the axe with a handle on it too. Always finish your work "mom" would say. Stay grinding and the channel and videos too. Hit me up.

Can someone answer Why does he have to go in a back and forth motion in the oil? Why can't you just stick the adze in there and hold it there?
@pwkeely5 жыл бұрын
Moving it prevents the oil and smoke and steam directly next to the metal from super heating in places and cooling the piece inconsistently. By moving it around you are working with the temperature of the tank as a whole and not the one little corner portion you've stuck the piece in.
@4StringSling5 жыл бұрын
@@pwkeely brilliant, thank you!
@connerhighwood95605 жыл бұрын
That is true pwkeely, but It's also so that the bubbles that form around the piece as it cools disperse. Allowing for the piece to cool quicker. Without moving it, the bubbles stay and it forms a barrier that holds the heat in.
@pwkeely5 жыл бұрын
@@connerhighwood9560 thats true Connor but it also helps cool it more consistently by allowing access to more oil... Wait, I think we're just repeating each other here.
