From your description of this coach, I am pretty sure I spoke with the owner of this bus several months ago. I have been watching it for about a year. There were too many things he said to me that were squirrelly. I am a potential first time buyer. It is encouraging to know I smelled something off and you confirmed it. You have given me a little more confidence as I search for a coach. Thanks Andrew!

This is an extremely valuable video for buyers who are looking for their perfect RV. For some reason the sales of cars & RVS attract more than a few dishonest people who are more than happy to take you for as much as possible. I’m appalled by his behaviour and so happy that you accompanied the buyer Andrew. It’s something I learned from you early on to always find an independent inspector who can help with your purchase or stop the sale completely. Personally I’d flag the seller on social media for misrepresentation and lying to potential buyers. Thank you so much for highlighting the issues of buying your RV privately or from an unknown dealership. 👏👏👏

What I got from this is that you know your stuff and even though the buyer paid out a lot of money before a purchase, the buyer made a sound investment in you and your knowledge of the coach but also what questions to ask and extract the information needed to determine your level of comfortability with the seller and a possible sale. Don't beat yourself up over the fact the buyer paid you and a no sale took place. you proved to the buyer the money he paid you was far more valuable than the R.V and the $10,000.00 the buyer paid for everything was a drop in the bucket compared to losing $500,000.00 plus the $250,000.00 in repair cost. The bond you and the buyer established that day will be immeasurable in the future.

Great video Andrew. Eyes Wide Open. First time owners need to understand this. We've owned our Wanderlodge for 4 years now. Were fortunate to purchase from an honest owner. Through WOG and contacts we knew the history of the bus and the owner's history fixing up Wanderlodges. He liked to do stuff like that and is honest as the day is long. We've not really had to repair much in our 4 years of ownership other than maintenance and a few repairs that are consistent with ownership of a 17 year old class A diesel pusher. Thanks again for the videos. I appreciate your channel.

I was set to buy a famous brand Scandinavian leather chair and ottoman (Stressless) off CraigsList that was advertised as like new, mint, perfect, or similar. A lot of time was wasted, as there was leather finish scuffed off the person side of the ottoman. presumably from normal moving of pant legs on, off, and around the edge many many times. On the good side, it made not want to buy even a new set of that type. Misrepresentation is common in personal sales ads (and politics, and in humanity in general). Buyer beware.

He was lucky to have you with him. What would have happened if he would have just gone to the private seller by himself? He wouldn’t have known what all to look for, bought it, and then found a ton of red flags afterwards. Not talking about this case, but sometimes a private seller, or even a dealership can spot someone who doesn’t know anything about RV’s at all, from a mile away. Not all people will prey on and deceive someone they are selling to or a client. But unfortunately they are out there. So my advice to anyone who is a first time buyer would be to just be careful. Look for experts like Andrew who know the ins and outs of motor coaches, and all RV’s for that matter. Or if not a professional, then someone who you know well that knows what their doing. Glad you were able to help him Andrew.

This was an "excellent" video. I'd be interested in more like this. As a side note, when you review those beautiful and expensive coaches, I wish you'd take time to point out some simple but important features on kitchen appliances. For instance, the size (CuFt) of the refrigerators. It is a fact that "all women" and most men want to know what size it is. If it isn't at the top of their list of questions when they walk through a coach, it's most certainly something they'll look for and find on a spec sheet, or will ask about before they buy. Also, consider stating the brand name of the washer/dryer combo units, and the brand name of the stackable units. FYI- Spendide has an unfavorable repair reputation (I've been in the appliance biz for a while) and GE is owned by a Chinese company called Haier. China "anything" very likely turns off a potential buyer on the high end. Although that may not make the the difference in whether or not a guy buys a coach, a high-end buyer is more discriminating and the fact definitely is noted. If I were a buyer at the high end and ran into a GE or Splendide appliance, I'd negotiate replacement appliances. Last thing... is may not be wildly important to most buyers, but it is something I know I'll need to know when I buy. I'll need to know the width and depth of the largest bay. I need one that is a hair over 4 feet wide. Back to the washer/dryer/refrigerator thing- please share my thoughts with Brad, he may find value in replacing those brands and using it as a value statement when making sales. Keep up the good work.

Buying a Used RV from a private seller(individual) is the same as buying a car your buying "As Is" and you don't get a warranty. There really isn't any recourse, unless there's a recall on the vehicle. That's why it's called buying a lemon.

Used vehicles are a great deal if you buy a quality vehicle and get an inspection. If someone has $500k for a motor home they are not hurting for money. 😅😂
